Carbon Build Up Intake Valve
Many new engines use direct fuel injection. This system leads to carbon build up on the intake valves and runners, which is typically clean as the engine runs and the port fuel injectors spray gas across the intake valves and cleans then. MBZ does no have a maintenance program to clean the carbon buildup intake valves. They use “breakdown maintenance” which shows up as a miss. This usually requires a complete replacement of the headsp(s). While this is covered under warranty, it could occur after warranty and its a very expensive fix. Their are after market spray cleaners (Seafoam) that is sprayed into the intact after the MAF sensors. An a complex engine p, such a a 4L hot V turbo, this Noyba good DYI project. MBZ will not perform this service. Does any body know of a shop in San Diegi that does this work.
