New AMG Owner - 2021 GLE 63S

First post and brought home my first AMG yesterday, the dealer had a new 2021 GLE 63S, so far of course loving it! I know the body style isn't for everyone but I like it for the GLE.

Congrats! I have the same wheels. Buy yourself a can of compressed air and keep it in the car. You'll need it to remove the center caps if you ever get a flat.

??? Not sure I understand.
Vehicle comes with the tool to remove center caps (mine did. I have the same wheels, but in black). What's the compressed air for?

The center caps are surrounded by a metal ring. When you use the tool to remove the center cap, the metal ring is supposed to come off with it. Due to a manufacturing/design defect, the ring is slightly too large so gets stuck. Thus just the center cap comes off and the metal ring gets left behind. It's so tight that no amount of prying will loosen it, thus you can't remove the lug bolts because they are covered by the ring. You have to freeze the ring with the compressed air (hold the can upside down to dispense liquid instead of air) to cause the ring to shrink enough to pop off.

I've had several visits to the dealer and complaints to MBUSA and no permanent fix yet. Dealer is the one who showed me the trick they use to get it off. Dealer is frustrated too and have seen this on many AMG models, not just the GLE. Rumor is that they may finally issue a new part in 2022 but just a rumor.

Got it. I have not had that experience and mine have come off w/o issues (removed all four wheels to clean them a few weeks ago).
Good to know though. Thanks.

I have a E63S and the center caps come right off, must be a GLE thing.

Quick question for everyone here, I was trying to enable my hotspot and it is still set for AT&T. In other areas of this site it says that there should be an OTA update to move to t-mobile, has anyone gotten this OTA update yet? My car says no updates available.
