Mostly Loving New GLE AMG 52 Coupe - 2 Things...
Had my GLE coupe a few weeks now. Its a big upgrade over my old Range Rover Sport - much more luxurious and comfortable without giving up performance. Two things I'm not liking that I'm hoping to find solutions for are:
1) The Dinamica steering wheel material is terrible. Its way too slippery Vs leather unless you want to wear driving gloves (maybe my hands don't sweat enough). I'm trying to source an add on leather cover. - anyone done this?
2) The Mercedes Nav is inferior to Android Auto - it makes obviously inferior route selections (at least for my area). When I connect Android Auto through my phone - its now problematic to access the touchpad menu to toggle through my favorite audio stations. - you have to go back to to the Home screen via the touch display - which is hard to do and keep your eyes on the road. Anyone overcome this obstacle? - I'm still learning to speak MBUX .....

I have the AMG steering wheel on my new to me ‘21 63. It feels nice but I don’t care for alcantara or dinamica on high touch surfaces. They absorb the oils in our skin and become slippery and shiny. I also fee the new MBUX has regressed from my ‘19 E63 from Apple CarPlay standpoint. I used to be able to use the entire wide screen now it’s cropped on the right and left. I don’t get it?
Otherwise I like the vehicle but it’s not perfect. Some things like cropping Apple CarPlay is just weird.
