Fun list, but everyone has their own idea of must have vs optional. E.g. Here in FL, ventilated seats are not an option for me but a must have. Personally I also nixed the acoustic comfort due to the glass interference with the V1g2 detector. Car is super quiet without it, imo. Everyone is very different, so having the ability to load on / leave off what each of us wants is the best solution (assuming the buyer can make a special order). Haven't seen your video yet, so maybe you mention some pros/cons of all the choices. Glad you are enjoying the ride - I sure am.

IMO the Dynamic Plus package is the "most" must have option. In addition to improving handling, it improves the ride and comfort.
Then the Burmester High End and massage seats.
Insulated Glass doesn't interfere with my detector, and the available positions are perfect.

Had time to watch the video - very nice discussion on all the options and well done. I agree with you on the underpowered ventilated seats - yes, you feel them but they are wimpy. My F350 seats blow more air. Lol

Definitely wish they blew more air especially with these hot summers.

My only issue with this package is the pricing and the lack of utility since GLE 53 is not fast enough to warrant fully using the improved sport performance this offers. Also when you option this along with the rest on this car then you get within GLE 63S pricing which includes this package as standard.

I did not drive a 53 without the DP pkg, to use as a baseline to compare to, as there were no 53 cars on the lot to try out due to the shortages. I had to order my 53, and (went with my hunch) added the DP to the build based on comments I read on this forum from others (and, I really wanted the large brakes). All I know is it rides pretty darn nice in comfort mode but handles like a race kart.... wow, this thing can fling thru corners. I am pleased with the handling but have nothing to compare to except a base 350 model I test drove. Night and day different. Really glad I got the 53. If I was a bit older, the 350 or 450 might be a smoother ride choice vs the 53, but for now, I like to have fun (safely of course). I think the 350 I drove had 19 inch wheels which also made it feel very floaty vs my 22 inch wheels (and different suspension bits). The DP is not cheap, I agree, but I figured the bigger brakes alone were $3500-ish of the package price anyway.... I could not order a 63 at the time due to the model stoppage, so a optioned out 53 was my only choice.

The 53 is fast enough to need more tire than supplied. I've been to three track days with my 53, and it's surprisingly nimble and predictable. Needs more tire, especially in the front, to use all the performance the engine provides.

But to your point, the stellar thing about the Active Suspension is the immediate response to steering input. If you enjoy a car that turns when you move the wheel, slows when you touch the brakes and goes fast when you hit the Go pedal, all without what I call "wasted motion," you will appreciate the 53 with the Dynamic Plus Package. (Very few cars fit that description these days unless a dedicated performance monster.) The AMG Active Ride Control will convince you that you are in a smaller, sportier car than one without ARC.

In addition, when it comes to luxurious ride, the ARC provides a noticeably smoother ride, especially on bad pavement and potholes, compared to the base 53 suspension, which is nice in its own right. The base 53 suspension is firmer than a 450 with air or steel, but the 53 with ARC is smoother. And it doesn't wallow.

It compares favorably with a GLE with E-ABC, which I had on our 2020 GLE450. The E-ABC is smoother on speed bumps and irregularities that are the width of the entire lane, but the ARC is better when only one side of the car hits a jolt.

So, the DPP with ARC gives the best of both worlds - significantly improved handling, and significantly improved comfort. I've never seen an option on any car that was so uncannily good.

This is a really good break down, this changes my opinion of the option for 3 reasons:

1. I did not know it improved comfort and this would be a welcome thing to have.
2. Having had the chance to take the car up to 137MPH, it would help to have the extra performance added by DPP
3. When you're doing high performance driving the standard silver breaks are really not up to the task and you will smell the burning smell when they overheat fairly quickly.
