High-performance brakes
These things are touchy. I’m sure I’ll get use to them but wow, these things will stop a freight train…
I know the 63 Ceramic brake jobs can cost more than a used Camry. Anyone know how much a high-performance brake job will cost?

Great feedback on alternative pads for standard steel rotors.
I know how it works with the Cayenne Turbo's but would like to hear about longevity, sounds, etc. of the full carbon ceramic brakes from MB AMG. Paying $5k and then paying $X thousands every 10-20k miles sounds ridiculous if that is the case.

I guess these cars are too new for many people to report the cost for brake jobs. However, I thought I saw a quote somewhere on the GLE forum for $900 just for the rear brakes for a 350 or 450. The rear brakes are typically cheaper than the front. Take that for whatever it’s worth. I’m sure the six-piston high-performance steel brakes will cost more and the ceramics a metric ton more lol.

Ceramic brakes typically last quite a bit longer for normal driving then steels. I've had several cars with ceramics. Biggest benefit to me is the lack of brake dust. Ceramics cut brake dust down by ninety percent. I would have ordered them on my 63 but I wanted red calipers not the orange and probably the biggest reason is they are only ceramic in the front not the rear which seems dumb to me. I know it cuts the cost some but still. As far as I know MB is the only that does this.
