Brake Pads - Powerstop FYI - From Mnfr
I see that the Powerstop Z17 is good for what I think is the the same braking system on the 2021 Mercedes Benz Maybach GLS600 (GLS63S) but not listed for the GLE 63S even though both vehicles share the same brake system. Why is this? Also, the brake system is identical for 2022 but not listed as an option.
I also like the Powerstop Z23 which I have on another vehicle and wonder when those will be spec’d out for the 2021 or 2022 GLE63S and the X5M Competition

Thank you for your interest in PowerStop products.
To answer your questions:
The 2021 Maybach GLS600 uses Mercedes front pad # 000 420 47 02 (PowerStop Z17-2237)
The 2021 GLS63 AMG uses Mercedes front pad # 000 420 46 03. We have not researched this Mercedes number (it has very limited applications on the road)
The 2021 GLE63 AMG S also uses Mercedes front pad # 000 420 46 03.
MB# 000 420 47 02 (PowerStop Z17-2237) may well indeed interchange with # 000 420 46 03, we have not made that determination yet.
The 2022 Maybach GLS600 uses a different Mercedes front pad # 000 420 69 03. We do not have data for this Mercedes pad yet.
We do not yet have front pad data for 2022 GLS63 AMG or GLE63 AMG S.
I do not know when PowerStop will have a Z17 or Z23 pad available for 2021/2022 GLE63 AMG S (front pad # 000 420 46 03)
Regarding BMW X5M Competition (2021-2020), we currently stock front pad PN# 17-2155 and Z23-2155, and rear pad PN 17-2059 and Z23-2059. All should be readily available at your preferred parts retailer.
My Brembo research:
Brembo is asleep at the wheel with a carbon ceramic option for 2021+
