Active roll stabilization malfunction after stage 4 tuning - GLE63S W167 2020
I performed a stage 4 tuning (turbo upgrade, transmission reinforcement etc) and its putting 967 HP on the wheels which is perfect.
However the GLE roadtrain is having issues with the weight / acceleration. Its on airmatic with AMG Active Ride Control bydeway.
What happens (mostly in 1/4mile kind of situations) is that during acceleration its giving a malfunction with spring icon as attached.
I figured out thats its an issue with the active roll stabilization. Seems no way it can be turned off. After a readout it gives the same error code on the front and rear axle but no hardware defect, its basically says its gone out of acceptable range for whatever some sensor is watching.
The problem is that i contacted several tuners but they don’t seem to be familiar with the issue or the codes..
Error code: C10159A
its giving part numbers for hardware which i would assume to be the sensors:
Front axle it says: 1679011205
Back axle it says: 1679011305
Pictures attached
Can anyone tell me what’s happening exactly and how it can be avoided or upgraded??
The error during acceleration in straight line
Back axle error
Front axle error

They said it was a general update for all cars - I don't know if it was US specific.
It seemed to soften the sway control a bit.
I have worked mine pretty hard at the (road) track, and I may have overheated those step motors from time to time.
The question would be if its really coming from the ARC / sway bars or maybe the suspension being to soft for example.
Neither the error code or the sensor part numbers are getting any hit on google somehow.
Talking to benzninja now, see if he can diagnose it and somehow set a wider tolerance
The acceleration forces the suspension fully out of parameters.
Solution: Eliminate the problem

I went to INTRAX for a conversion from Airmatic to racing springs, custom-made to my setup. They specialize in custom springs and racing / F1.
As expected, the car now thinks there is no suspension at all.
BenzNinja is working hard to get everything coded. Problems we face:
- Suspension error (We will probably code out the Airmatic and replace it as if it was delivered originally with regular springs)
- Loss of power during sharp cornering (some safety thing that gets activated)
- Airmatic compressor error, since it's removed. So this needs to be coded out.
etc etc
But luckily we got our expert BenzNinja working on it:
Hope to update soon, movie should follow!
