2024 GLE53 with 22 Summer need winter tire suggestions
Hi All,
I am in Canada and just picked up my 53 SUV. Omg!!! Love this beast. Will reach 1000 miles in a day or 2 and then can let it loose. Lol!
I need your help please with winter set up. Currently have the summer 22.
Cant find anything online for 2024 GLE53.
Planning on getting new wheels and tires. Would like to stay with 22 winters. Good/bad idea?
Would a square set up be better or stay with front and rear offset?
Brand and size recommendations please.
TIA.

I am running the Pirelli Scorpion Winter tires staggered (same sizing as the stock summer tires on a duplicate set of wheels). 2023 GLE63.

I found a set on eBay (they were the the stock silver set/color) and had them powder coated back to match my stock black set.

I am quite impressed with them in dry and wet conditions, and they do well on black ice and light to medium snow conditions.
Most impressive to me however is how well they do on dry pavement. Once I got a couple thousand miles on them, I didn't feel like I was sacrificing too much handling with winter tires.
For more severe conditions however my recommendation would be the Nokian R5 SUV. It's incredible.
I would consider 21 inch wheels for Winter Wear, partly because they probably be more capable and lousy conditions, but also because there are a lot more selections, and tire manufacturers are slower to introduce their newest technology in your 22-in size.
Don't forget TPMS on your new Wheels!

I suspect the 21 wheels will be less expensive as well.

I urge you to decide which size pretty soon, because sometimes availability is sketchy.
Especially for the Mercedes MO-1 AMG designation, which might be why mine perform better than expected.
Check your dealer, because sometimes they have the best prices. This is been the case with two of my last three sets of tires.
Insist on recent dated tires.
Enjoy.

Can you confirm the specs on 22 & 21 wheels?
I have researched and found but need confirmation.
Front 10J x 21 ET51 with offset range 49-53
Rear 11 x 21 ET47 with offset range 49-53
Front 10J x 22 ET56 with offset range 54-58
Rear 11.5 x 22 ET53 with offset range 51-55
is this correct? Also are the 2023 wheels same as 2024?
thanks again.
