Does anyone know if the 2024 GLE 53 AMG coupe comes standard with the “bounce” feature?
I remember the GLE 350 and 450 at one time or another had to get the E-ABC feature in order to get the bounce feature but I can’t see if it comes standard with the AMG models.
I forgot to check the manual before posting this, so I did. The only thing I can find relating to the bounce feature is this “rocking the vehicle free”. It doesn’t appear to be any special feature, but it looks like you put the vehicle R or D past where you usually put it for R or D, then it’s supposed to start???
So if I am reading this right, I can put the car in D and push the drive selector stalk up past where I’d usually be able to put it and then the car will start bouncing?

The bounce feature you are talking about is called recovery mode and is only part of the E-ABC suspension. The E-ABC suspension cannot be specified with any AMG. Also no GLEs have E-ABC except MY2020. You can get it on GLS and Maybach though.
Thank you @wildta . Do you happen to know anything about the "rocking the vehicle free" thing that is referenced in the owners manual?
@MB_Fahrer see Wildta's response. I was not sure what it was called. All I know is the car literally bounces and it is supposed to help you get out of sand/snow.

Reading that screenshot, it sounds like it's telling you to switch back and forth between shifting the gear from reverse and drive but not exceeding 6mph as a method of getting your vehicle out of a stuck position.

I agree.
It reads like they're saying to "Slam it into R then D" and back repeatedly.
That doesn't make sense to me.
Also, if you're going 6mph you aren't stuck, by my definition.🫤
I wish they made Manuals in one language so we could trust the translation. True of every German car, though.
So my thinking is because the AMGs don’t have the E-ABC feature that they maybe incorporated the “bounce” or recovery mode this way. But who knows. Google has not been much help.

I think they assume that if your car is stuck in snow, you might have some wheel spin as you rock back and forth to get out, and the transmission allows you to shift the gears less than 6mph in order to do so unlike older cars where it might cause a lot of stress to the drivetrain?

I wonder if spinning wheels is a German thing.
In my experience, spinning the wheels only gets you more stuck.
Maybe you're right - maybe there's some Nanny intervention reducing the impact.
I used to Slam my Dad's Buick into gear to Lay Rubber. In retrospect I'm amazed at the drive shaft and U joints survived.
