What to look out for when getting windows tinted on GLE 53 AMG Coupe

So I took delivery of my 2024 GLE 53 AMG Coupe and this is the first time I do not have the dealership tinting the windows. I am looking to do ceramic tints or some kind of tint that blocks out the heat and UV rays and also to be kind of dark. I know in Florida we are not allowed to have dark tints on the windshield, but I am thinking of getting that window done too but with maybe a clear ceramic tint.

Is there anything I need to watch out for when getting my windows tinted? I do not want the tint to mess with any of the sensors and whatnot.

Congrats on your new ride! I am getting my front windows tinted 55% to just block UV, technically my state NJ doesn't allow tinted windows either but I see people doing it all the time. Still my shop recommended 55% so I don't get too much an attention from cops. Back windows are same as everyone else which is 20% privacy glass from the factory.

Don't think it will mess up any electronics if you just do windows as I saw other GLEs have done the same. As far as i can see, LIDAR sensors are positioned at the top of the windshield, many sensors are located at front and rear bumper, on the side, mirrors house camera and sensors.

But if you want to do windshield that you may want to check with the shop and dealer before you proceed. Understood for you from FL, I still remember visiting disney world in the summer, one time I had to get something from the car.. thats an oven ..

Thank you. In Florida it gets very hot especially in the summer so I am looking to do all the windows. The tint company I choose is mobile so they are coming out to me. They have done other 2024 GLE and GLE coupes and other high end cars which is why I went with them. I am not 100% sure what % tint I am going to go with, but either 15% or 20% front sides, 50% back & back sides and either 70% or 50% front. That way it will look dark from the outside and the inside will be cooler. Thankfully the ceramic will keep the Florida heat out.

Just finished getting my windows tinted and ended up doing 15% on the front sides, 50% on the rear sides, back windshield, and front windshield, and then I did 35% on the roof. My GLE 53 AMG Coupe looks amazing now with the tints and in the summer time the interior should stay cooler because of the ceramic tints.

I've got xpel prime xr plus 35 on all side windows, tailgate, and pano. The front is done in 70 on the whole glass, and then an eyebrow strip in 5% down to the as1 line. It covers the v1g2 and viofo from being noticed. Heat rejection from the ceramic is amazingly good over the past 2 Florida summers. Zero issues with the electronics / cameras. I won't ever have a car without ceramic tint. You'll be pleased.
