Fuel Pump Recall
2022 AMG GLE 63S. Has anyone had the fuel pump recall completed on their car? Wondering how long it took and any issues I should watch out for afterwards. Appointment is for 28 December. According to the dealer, my model requires a fuel tank drop to do the replacement. What could possibly go wrong.....

Will be taking in my 2022 as well at the first of the year. I do not relish the thought of having the fuel tank dropped to do this or taking out some of the interior to get to an access point from the top to replace it. I've been told it's eight hours labor so yes that's pretty involved. Also, it takes even longer if you have the factory hitch. My concern is always broken clips, not putting things back properly, not tightening things correctly. All so the tech can beat flat rate time. I also dislike opening the fuel system and am very concerned about having residual or ongoing gas fumes once the job is done. Anyone that has had this done already had any issues?

No issues, in fact it's so much better that they had to drop the rear end to remove the tank and not have gas fumes soaking into the interior..

I had mine done on my 2022 GLE 53 in late October. The technician completed the whole thing in about 7 hours. Dropped off at 700a picked up 500p. He had done at least a dozen of these before he got to mine. He just removed the right rear wheel and inner fender assembly under the panel and was able to get to the module and replace it. No gas leaks, no fumes, and he put all new screws and bolts in instead of reusing any of the ones he took out. My service department has been very good over the years and I go back in the bay and talk to the guys. I feel confident that they did it right. No rattles or anything and I've put at least 2000 miles on it since the repair. No issues. Hope it goes drama free for all of you as well.
