Tire Question (GLE53 - 22")

I have a 2021 GLE53 with the 22" wheel option. Still has the original PS4S's on it, but they are ready to be replaced. I live in St. Louis so running high performance summer tires year round is not ideal, although I have done it for the past 3 years. I am pondering replacing with all seasons; however, the options are incredibly limited because the wheels are so big and wide. From my research, there is only one option out there - Pirelli Scorpion Zero All Seasons. Even on Tire Rack, they will run $3,600 for a set, which is quite high. Replacement PS4S's are $2,500. If I can get substantially more miles out of the Scorpion's then it would make sense, but I've read mixed reviews on tread life.

That said, curious if anyone has experience with the Scorpions - and if there is another all season tire option out there that I may be missing. What is not an option is having a separate set of winter wheels/tires, as I have no place to store them.

Thanks in advance for your thoughts!

Jeremy

Jeremy - BTW, I'm literally in the same boat as you (as well as being in STL). I have about 5k miles remaining before needing to replace,

I'm considering the all-season Nittos, which are referenced in the suggested linked thread, and am looking at other options in the 275/40/22 & 315/35/22 sizes. Would enjoy hearing about your decision...

Thanks,
Eric

I've had the Pirelli Scorpion all seasons installed for a few months and love them. I'm in Toronto Canada so I still run snow tires in the heart of winter (Dec-Feb) but A/S the rest of the time. From the research I've done, they are supposed to last better than other brands out there, we will see if that's actually true!

Decided to just go with PS4S again. Mercedes dealership said Pirelli Scorpions aren't authorized by MB to sell - Parts dept can't order them. I know I could have gone elsewhere but didn't want the hassle. My wife's ride to work is literally one mile so even on very cold days, I don't foresee this will be a problem. Made it through 3 winters without a problem. I know I'm rolling the dice a little, but not overly concerned with this calculated risk I'm taking.

Friend of mine has these on their 2021 GLE AMG 53 coupe, and they have done about 5K miles and are very low.. makes NO sense.. they are evenly worn, so it’s not an alignment issue I think. Anyone have a recommendation for mostly all season tires that can go ~ 15-20K? Miles on this beast?Continental Contisport Contact 5P tires

Not sure about 15-20k but my PS4's got about 12k on the rear and the front could have gone longer, likely 15k. They are extremally sticky. Stuff sticks to them like they are duct tape. Not all season rated but with winters here in coastal NC they still do fine for "normal" driving.
I think the driver has a relation to wear. Still on original brakes with over 4/32 (dealer measurement at service, looks thicker to me) on the pads at 50k miles. I let the regen slow it and drive conservatively. Use to own a GLE450 that got almost 40k on the 20" set of OE Michelins. The 20" on my S580 has Hankooks that still look new at 10k miles so definitely tire composition makes a difference. I also have and usually drive a F350 SRW truck with Michelin LTX tires that I get 70k miles out of a set regularly. I doubt I will ever get 70k out of a set of tires on a MB no matter how I drive it.
