Tire Question (GLE53 - 22")
I have a 2021 GLE53 with the 22" wheel option. Still has the original PS4S's on it, but they are ready to be replaced. I live in St. Louis so running high performance summer tires year round is not ideal, although I have done it for the past 3 years. I am pondering replacing with all seasons; however, the options are incredibly limited because the wheels are so big and wide. From my research, there is only one option out there - Pirelli Scorpion Zero All Seasons. Even on Tire Rack, they will run $3,600 for a set, which is quite high. Replacement PS4S's are $2,500. If I can get substantially more miles out of the Scorpion's then it would make sense, but I've read mixed reviews on tread life.
That said, curious if anyone has experience with the Scorpions - and if there is another all season tire option out there that I may be missing. What is not an option is having a separate set of winter wheels/tires, as I have no place to store them.
Thanks in advance for your thoughts!
Jeremy

Jeremy - BTW, I'm literally in the same boat as you (as well as being in STL). I have about 5k miles remaining before needing to replace,
I'm considering the all-season Nittos, which are referenced in the suggested linked thread, and am looking at other options in the 275/40/22 & 315/35/22 sizes. Would enjoy hearing about your decision...
Thanks,
Eric

I've had the Pirelli Scorpion all seasons installed for a few months and love them. I'm in Toronto Canada so I still run snow tires in the heart of winter (Dec-Feb) but A/S the rest of the time. From the research I've done, they are supposed to last better than other brands out there, we will see if that's actually true!
