All season 22inch Tire replacement for GLE53AMG
I am trying to buy GLE53AMG and a specific one that I was looking, comes with 22inch performance summer tire. Since I live in east coast where it sonws, I wanted to replace this with All season tire and the dealership said they ca do that. They showed me
This Tire
But another dealer told me there is no Merceds approved 22inch all season tires. Is that true? The link looks like it's 21inch for me. Not sure if the dealership is lying or making a mistake. Are the tires in the link safe to be replaced for GLE 53 AMG?

these are 21 so I mentioned it and he said I’d better go with 21. I feel like he was trying to use cheap ones and switch to 21 without informing me. Maybe I should ho to another dealer?
Yup… Michelin Pro 4S dedicated summer tires. The Michelin Pro A/S look amazing but don’t come in the tire size for 22” wheels.
All I can find are these Pirellis. Did anyone find anything else.

The Michelin Pro 4 S tires are perfect year round here. My problem is that I have my Ikon pass and snowboard all season in Big Bear and Mammoth, our local mountains. When I had my rubicon I would head up right before the big storms. Often times waking up to 3-4 feet of snow overnight.
The Perelli scorpion winters don’t make a ton of sense driving around Southern California even in the winter, but the Michelin Pro 4S tires could be a death sentence in the big storms when I’m up in the mountains.
I don’t want to mess with changing out wheels and tires every couple weekends just to go snowboarding. This is where I’m stuck.

I have a GLE53 with 22's coming next month. Summer tires cannot be under any load in an bient temperature below 40 degrees F. Supposedly handling is also absolutely horrendous with winter tires when on dry ground.
I haven't decided what I'll do, but I may have to buy a 2nd set of rims and do winters. It will be insanely expensive 😩.

I cannot believe they don’t make the Michelin Pro A/S in this size. That’s the ideal tire for what I’m doing.

Maybe I'll consider tire cables for my weekend trips. What would you recommend? I've never had to use anything like that because they plow all the roads here.

That sucks to hear they’re discontinued. That was my next plan to go with the Pirelli all seasons and buy a good pair of tire cables for when the roads get really dicey. Unfortunately they don’t make any cables that I can find in 325/35R22 and Mercedes specifically states with 4Matic they must go on the back.
What’s funny is that here in California we have various chain restrictions. When the restrictions hit R2 level, you can get away with mud + snow tires (all season) and 4WD/AWD.
While R3 restrictions don’t happen often because they usually just shut down the roads before then, they do come up. That means all vehicles even those with four-wheel-drive and all wheel drive must have chains on. I usually track storms and will rent an Airbnb prior to the big storm so by the time I wake up I’m driving straight to the slopes. Even when they shut down the roads coming up the mountain it’s still R3 restricted in the mountains area.
I watched countless four-wheel-drive vehicles being pulled over by CHP in those restrictions.
So what am I going to do? I don’t know… I had a Rubicon before this and I never had to worry about a thing in the mountains.
These are also an option but with temps in the low 70s during my winter here in SoCal all dedicated winter tires seem silly to me.
I’m truly at a rock and a hard place.

I don't want to store and swap wheels each season. Living in the city in Chicago I have no place to store 4 wheel/tire combos that big. I already take up so much space in my condo garage with my other car and motorcycles.

See I would consider swapping out to the Nittos as well and keep tires cables in the vehicle in the event I needed more traction than the Nittos could deliver, but as mentioned, doesn’t look like anybody sells them in the rear tire size.
One thing I know is the OE Pro 4’s on there now cannot be taken up during a storm. Right now all roads are plowed and it’s fairly warm in the local mountains, but come mid December, all bets are off.

I'd rather run Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 4s like I have on my GTR if they made them.
I am a bit frustrated to say the least. Guess that’s what I get for ditching the Rubicon.

Also go beyond Tire Rack. They don't carry brands like Nokian.
I had the best availability last year and pricing from my dealer.
It's pretty late in the season to be shopping for snow tires, especially with supply issues we've had over the last couple years.
Good luck!

The Nittos look good and are about half the price lol, please share your experiences with them once you have it.
