GLE63s 360 camera OEM upgrade Help Please
GLE63s 360 camera OEM upgrade help W166
so I’ve not long upgraded from a ML350 to a GLE63s AMG.
I have discovered that the car was never fitted from factory with cameras all round, only reverse camera.
the front grill has been changed to a Panamerican style. Which looks nice but I’ve sourced an original one and had it sprayed black.
I have had it off and no camera. I also couldn’t see the wiring loom for it. But I assume it’s there.
also I had a damaged mirror cover, so after dismantling I discovered a broken fixing inside.
the glad would also never sit properly for viewing behind me.
A search on EBay and I found a full mirror with cameras for very cheap.
So I did a deal with the seller and bought the pair.
Replaced one today with damaged one and it’s spot on.
Only thing I couldn’t find was the connection behind the door panel for the cameras wiring, the module fixed to the door where everything plugs in did actually have an empty port but nothing like the camera connector from the mirror.
anyone have any ideas?
ps I’m also aware that if I do get this all hooked up, I need to get it all programmed too. Is this correct, if so, does it have to be a Mercedes dealer?
