Potential New AMG63s Owner ISO Info
Greetings members,
Looking to potentially buy a used 2018-19 GLE AMG and want to see what are the common problems or issues to look out for. I read and all the relevant threads out of the 25 pages here and so far was a clunking grind from the rear when accelerating from a stop and the air suspension going out. How is the motor on this model, i watched some vids and most are saying its a bulletproof engine. Is there an area of the forum where i can read more about the issues of the engine?
As of now, Ive been deciding between a 2020 SRT and trying to see what else are out there and came upon the GLE63s AMG. Trying to find out as much info as i can before a purchase. I kept my last Jeep about 15 yrs so i tend to keep it for quite some time.
A 20-21 SRT with about 20k miles are about 55-58k.
Im seeing 19 GLE AMG for about the same, give or take.
Any info, pros, cons are much appreciated.

2024 GLE63s, 2021 E63s, 2018 GLC43
Look in the W213 E63 forum. Rear main seal is the biggest issue, not sure if it affects the GLE.
edit: 2018-2019 is the older 5.5L V8. Look in the W212 E63 forum. Oil creeping up the ECU wiring harness is a big issue I remember.
