Unhappy GLE63 fuel injector fault

CEL came on last Sunday and dropped it off at dealer Monday morning for a check. Dealer read the code told me it is for the fuel injector fault and they were consulting with benz for technical support.

Then this has gone silent till Friday evening they called me said benz instructed them to replace the fuel injectors. Car was delivered to me December of 2023 and I dont drive this car much and it just tipped over 5k miles. Is this something I should be concerned as the issue appear this early on? Could it be something else? well the car is under warranty hopefully this is just a one-off.

My other question is how long will the fuel injector replacement take as I have a road trip planned for the family next week. The GLE is the family car and my other car is too small/uncomfortable as well, lol, for taking the family for a long trip. They gave me a c300 loaner - tbh not much better. If this takes longer... can I request a larger car with dealer? They may not like the fact I take the car for a long trip? I surely can rent another car but kind annoyed with GLE not working properly and stitting at their lot for a week of nothing.

thoughts?

PS - now as I think about it, sometimes the car feels rough when starts .. shakes a bit .. but it will go away after you drive a bit. I thought it was just a cold start. Since the CEL was never on before, I didnt really pay too much attention. I wonder if that has something to do with this issue.

I just had a similar issue with my GLE 63 coupe. The diagnosis is probably the longest part as the dealer needs to work with MB. If they have the parts, I would say you’d have the car by Tuesday. I also had a rim repair and new tires with my repair and it was all done in 4 business days.

The car seems to drive a bit smoother.

Thanks! Dealer called me just now and gave me an update. They have been working on the car since Friday but it will need to go through 2 driving cycles and report the data to benz. They can only release the car once benz gives them OK. Ahhhhhh.

I had to ask about the loaner, although he said it should only used for local, he would check with his manager to see if they can accommodate. Since i will be away for 10 days and already made plans along my trip, this is really not ideal.... I may have to visit them to see what exactly is going on.

Hopefully you get that loaner, if not they could probably reimburse you on a rental, get them in writing, if they proceed.

Thanks! They actually fixed it and delivered to me just in time. The foreman took my car home night before for like 100 miles to test drive. Repoeted completed all engine adapation test. I just drove 600 miles yesterday, everything seems fine on mechanical front.

Big HOWEVER, just venting here - They forgot to properly reattach the air vent intake housing to the front - just clipped on but no screws/clips to secure them, the engine heat liner missed 2 secure buttons, a few cables were just hanging there party (from what is not covered by engine cover), engine bay is extremely messy and dirty, two deep scratches on left fender (although I have PPF , I can feel they both went through), roof railing has scratches, three tire valve caps were missing, rear right control arm cover was hanging with one loose screw, and list goes on...

I had to leave to make my hotel so had to rush and service advisor was trying to have foreman fix whatever he can at service driveway but still ... i am pretty OCD coming to my stuff and wash my car every 2-3 weeks and since the car only has 5k local miles and is garage kept all time, so i notice all those little things.... it is just fuel injector replacement, why remove engine heat cover, scraching roof railing, missing tires valve caps, and for suspension under cover - it should have 2 screws attched to the lower control arm and somehow one was missing and the other was about to come undone???

nothing mechanical but I am just really annoyed and drive my OCD instane...

Is this what you guys experienced too? My dealer is a pretty big one serving NY/NJ...

Ugh, that stinks... Fixing something is one thing but breaking other things is another.
