Ham Radio install 2024 GLE580 SUV
Anyone want to share their Amateur radio installation ideas? I'm going through an install right now on my new 2024 GLE 580 and I'm looking for some installation idea's for a VHF/UHF only transceiver with a single antenna. This appears to be more difficult then the install I did on my 2018 GLE 43 AMG 4 years ago. First issue is , where do I get the 12v 10amp power source. I see 2 cig lighter sockets , one in front in passenger side front foot-well, the other one in the passenger side rear of trunk near the fuse box. Next issue is where do I install the remote radio control head. I use the cup holders so the cup holder mount is a no go. The antenna I removed to reuse from the AMG is a powered tiiltable model, that will easily mount to the roof rack like before. Anyone go through this and have any suggestions? Thanks
