Not a fan of the NTG 7 Gauges in my 2026 GLE...

Liked the ones in NTG 6 better. These new selections are bright, too much color and obnoxious. Literally migraine inducing. Classic from what I understand is what most people end up using should have had more customization like it did in NGT 6 (I had a 2022 GLE 63). It's blue and that's that. Not to mention you have to swipe down four from the top on the right tachometer guage to see your odometer. I know I can have the odometer in the middle but I like that for my temps. Don't know why MB always had a thing with hiding the odometer. So I'm stuck with the plain blue guage. You can change the background colors on the "understated" guage. So let's do that one and not the classic. SMH.

I'm on a roll so let's keep going. Trunk/hatch release in door panel used to be the nice silver switch and now it's plain black. Iconic MB "mesh net" by passenger foot well gone (saved them $2.00). No more 110 V plugin. Who was the genius that decided you didn't need a skip forward or back for music by the volume control on the steering wheel? Haptics suck. Yeah I'm getting used to them but that won't change my opinion. With that said I'm still thrilled with the car and no car is perfect.

Totally agree. The new gauges are a downgrade too loud, less customizable. Missing the mesh net and silver trunk switch too. Whoever killed the steering wheel skip button needs to be fired. Great car, but those little changes are maddening.

Cheaper and cheaper.

What are the differentiating characteristics of an MB vehicle which aren’t subjective or aesthetic?

I'll also add, I would have thought "Hey Mercedes" would have got a lot better over the years. Not the case. It works the same as it did in my 2022 to me. I know I can have it go to next track or previous but at that point I prefer to do it myself manually. I can't stand talking to that thing.

They’re definitely too bright but you get used to that. I literally bought a cover for it but never installed (like a film). I want more customization options not less. My biggest gripe is the missing scroll wheel for volume. I think we’ll get it back for 27 as per the s series. Steering wheel looks better but usability is definitively worse! Also for cruise control. I have a 25 gle63.

Okay, I spent another hour on this tonight and here is my conclusion. You can control the right screen display brightness so no issue there. The main screen in front of you is too bright as others have said and when you use the dimmer to turn it down all the way which I do then the issue is that everything else is now too dim. So you have to bring it up for a compromise. Next, I like the bright blue in super sport (this was the blue in classic in NTG 6) but for some reason classic has a drab bluish gray tint and hue. It looks terrible. Compare the blue in supersport to the blue (drab bluish gray) in classic. You can really see the difference in the right screen when you switch. When you use sport you get a bright nasty red and the red carries over to mix in with the drab bluish gray on the right screen for a truly hideous and muddied combo of these two colors.

I also keep hitting the damn head up display when I try and scroll to the other screens. My God the size of the off road display in head up takes up a good chunk of view out the front windshield. These dudes had to be drunk on a Friday night, or this was all done and approved during Oktoberfest.

The bozos who did the graphics messed around with shadows or transparency because it looked muddied. I don't like the "seismic" shockwave effect of the RPM in supersport anyways. Going back, I remember the old classic gauges in NTG 6 were a crisper blue and everything just seemed to pop more like the bezel and was more customizable. Not to mention they spent a lot of time on these Vegas casino looking gauges in the other modes and they do not fit the ethos of the car. It is a complete and total failure in my opinion. I'll just have to learn to live with it.
