I hear there is a promotion In Canada or maybe in the States to that there is a $500 bonus off your GLK if you sign or to the microsite? Is that true? Is it still on?

Yes, the promo is in effect until Feb.28, 2009. In order to qualify, you must sign up on the MB Canada GLK microsite, then place your order for purchase or lease before Feb.28/09. Once you have signed up for GLK updates, MB Canada will email to you a downloadable form which you then give to your dealer to fill in for the $500 discount.

I have registered for the updates ages ago and have never seen the discount (or any updates actually) coming my way here in Halifax.

Since the the discount offer is personalized, I cannot post it for you.
Suggest that you contact MB Canada directly and ask them to email you the personalized form for the offer.

It also states that "this offer is not refundable, exchangeable, transferable or cashable. Offer can be combined with other incentives or offers made by MB Canada Inc. and has to be signed by both customer and sales manager before sale of vehicle is completed. Offer expires on February 28, 2009."

Since at least two forum members report that they have not received the discount offer by email, I am beginning to wonder if the offer has been discontinued.

Apparently, the offer coupons were personalized and were given out only to people who participated in the campaign, which is over now. Lucky people -- I hear the GLK is pretty awesome.

I called MB Canada regarding the rebate.
I also called the my local dealership.

I will have a firm answer on Monday regarding the rebate in Canada.

I had signed up on the Canadian GLK microsite and did receive an email inquiring if I was thinking of purchasing a GLK in the next 0-3 months or 6- months or a year.

I ditched the email...but that was the email offer...I think?

Anyhow I have a GLK on order for March 2009 and figured I would inquire...it is only $500 but it would cover the iPhone/iPod integration package .

When I gave my personalized $500 coupon about two weeks ago to my dealer's Sales Manager, he had not even heard about the incentive program from MBC. I suspect that given the very strong demand across Canada for the GLK that the $500 discount has been quietly dropped.

Clearly, the aggressive Canadian starting price of CD$41,800 and the value for the dollar has captured the attention of numerous buyers. When I compared the list price of my GLK with all ordered options (CD$52,965) to the equivalent German price (CD$ 89,000), I was staggered by the difference.

You are correct...the local dealership had never heard of the discount coupon.

I was suppose to sign the deal on Friday but read about the coupon and delayed signing until I heard back from MB Canada.

The good news...MB Canada will provide me with the coupon.
The coupon is going directly to the dealership.
I will ask for a copy of the coupon.

Reasons...
- I was registered on the Canadian GLK Microsite in the Fall 2008.
- I received the email from MB regarding the discount but did not respond.
- I was found "in the system"

I could not get clarification if the rebate was still available?

I plan on asking the dealer to see the MB coupon.

Purchase price...base Canadian GLK price and listed price on all options (see my configuration below).

The Ontario dealership dropped $2000 + $500 off with the MB coupon.
Others in this forum have indicated a similar $2000 reduction also.

After testing the GLK and negotiating, I am going to purchase one in Vancouver dealership- just wondering if anyone had been able to get any sort of discount as the Vancouver dealership basically is telling me that there is no way they can give me any discount off the list price. I am planning to get the Premium package+ Xenon lights.

Just want to make sure that is absolutely true before I sign on the dotted line.
