2020 CLA 250 4Matic Black
I visted a local MB dealership, the MB Website had my entire visit arranged. I want to lease for 3yrs with 24,000km/yr. The price seems very flexible. The buyback on my quote is 60% and 63% if it was 18,000km a year, thats 7% more than I expected based on the information on the website. This is based on a $10,000 down and all the usual upfront cost and taxes. I will have to order the GLK since it does not come with all the options I want or colour. I was also offered an additonal $1,000.00 in discounts, so I figured I would just choose some options. I did ask if the B&O stereo could be thrown in and I was surprised to hear him say, we can work something out. I have to suspect that sales must be really bad for MB to be using a 60% residual after 3yrs. The GLK I priced out is with Premium Pak - Nav - Keless GO - Xenon Light and Rear Camera total before taxes is $49,525.00 due on deliver will be $15,392.13. The residual is $29,775.00

For Canadian buyers, would anyone happen to know if the 39 month lease option will be available? I know that most of the MB models offer this lease option and I know that in the US they are offering the 39 month lease option. However, not currently for the GLK.

Please share if you have any information on that.

Thanks!

Something does not add up. If ther MSRP was 47k, which means invoice is about 43-44 and you paid 38,400 (41900-3500 tax), that's 5k under invoice. Very hard to believe.

Before I ordered I know asked my sales rep and he did say they had a 39 Month option available if I am not wrong. I can confirm if you like?

Hm. 5K under invoice seems very very low. The best price I've gotten on this sucker is $1K under invoice.

Hi Don,

I called him today but he wasn't working, will try back tomorrow. My delivery date is Mid July, since its first Production order with the Keyless Go. It works out well, since my other lease on my G coupe is ending 3rd week of July, trust me can't wait for it. Placed the order Jan. 27, and its only been a month and some days... Have another 4 more months

I really really hate to say it but I think you can do much better than that. I just called another dealer, 46,105 MSRP, $42090 + tax/plates/registration.

perhaps its Northeast vs Central South? perhaps with all these layoffs in wall street area....

Yea but he's been already driving his GLK and wasn't willing to wait so that's why.

It was the same case with 2009 VWR32's. I was considering buying the car. Many jumped and preordered for MRSP. Car was being sold very close to invoice after a few months.

I guess you can apply the same logic to many things (iphone, ps3, wii etc.) Do you want to be first to own or own it in a few months and have more cash to spend on other things.

Just to paraphrase nycglk, you are talking about the price you pay for being early adopter.
Agreed but two months (considering offical launch in Jan) is hardly considered to be "late adopters"

Not sure how long he has been driving the GLK but I could walk out the dealer lot with one today. no wait. (on a grey/blk, p1, mm, appearance, heated seats)

Feb car sales plunged for auto industry, MB is no exception, -23%. Hence the 1.9%APR deals on a new model just launched. In this market, you should be working your way up from invoice.

The only evidence of a financial downturn here in my area is the domestic automaker's vehicles staying on the lot. Other than that, it is business as usual. So many people are employed here by government or are on welfare so the bad news is just that, "news". Because of that, MB and other luxury vehicles are being moved at or about the same rate as before. If anyone can get a better deal, do it. We could have used other tactics to probably have gotten a better "deal" but we didn't want to wait. In other words, we were willing and ready.

Not so in Canada for MB, where Year to date sales are up 14.6% and MB sales in February were up by 18.6% !!!
Of course, the successful launch of the GLK has made a major contribution to these positive results for MB Canada.
The only other manufacturers in Canada to post positive results for February were Hyundai, Subaru and Suzuki.

Thanks, BabyG. Curious still on that. Not to hijack here, but did you get the aluminum roof rack to match your aluminum running boards? Heard conflicting arguments about that, i.e., none available now, a very small number of them remaining now and you have to specifically beg for them, a number of them available for June delivery and no more after that, and just no more at all - not sure.

Does anyone know if the customer cash ($2000) that was offered in February for GLK's with multimedia has been carried over into March?

I am asking because I went through the Costco program and they are offering $750 over invoice (on GLK with multimedia) and no mention of the customer cash. While another dealer in the area (non-Costco program) quoted a price with the $2000. So the pricing is similar but wondering if the MB dealer in the Costco program is trying to pull a fast one.

Dmercado, in regards to the Aluminium roof rack, I personally don't care.. If its black so be it, and if its aluminium and added plus. I know I paid for it in my package but with shortage I doubt I will get it since I have a June build. In regards, what I have heard from my dealer and MB Canada the aluminum was available on initial launch... Ones those are finished, they all will come in black... So you are correct that they won't be available. I called my dealer and found my sales guy has been sick, just bare with me till monday or tuesday and i'll have an update for you on the 39 Month lease promo you have asked me to find out.

from what I understood from two different dealers, if your car is equipped certain way, the dealer might qualify for 2k kickback. you should be able to get $1k below invoice, i'm not a costco member and was offered this off the bat.

$150 over invoice is not bad, although i've gotten 500-1000 under invoice.
not sure where you are located, it seem to vary region to region.

Thanks for the reply. The dealer in the Costco network kicked in the $2000, so for a White/almond MB-Tex/P1 package/Multimedia/lighting/appearance package/IPod integration. the price was $41364. That looks to be around $900 below invoice.

My dealer here in the GTA (Maple actually) is sticking to their guns and only offering $750 off...I may head out to other Benz dealers to shake some trees to see if a better deal can fall out...
