Lexus IS300...Thinking about GLK
Purchase price of the GLK

To those who have inquired about a purchase, or who have actually done so, how much were you able to negotiate the price? Canadian inquires would be really helpfull. The dealer here in Ottawa offered 2K off the car (or basically no Freight & PDI).

haven't really negotiated yet --

-- this is such a bad market, hoping to get them down to invoice --

the money factor is horrible on a lease , and they HAVE to come down from MSRP esp versus ML350s, which are routinely below invoice cause of the 2k lease cash....

but we shall see -- MB salesmen and dealers are stubborn..

love to get any real "done deal" prices as well

Just checked carcostcanada.com and they do not have the invoice pricing info on the GLK yet.

IMO, you would be doing well to get that much of a discount.

Out here on the west coast, the GLK is selling extremely well. The initial supply seems to have been sold out quickly. Since demand in BC appears to far exceed supply at this time, I would doubt that the dealers here will drop the price by very much.

Given the aggressive Canadian intro base price, it may be a awhile before supply matches demand.

My GLK was purchased from an Ottawa dealer. I put my name on a unit sitting on a wharf in Halifax that had a few more options on it than I wanted. I was able to get 2 of these unwanted options for "free" which amounted to a $1350 discount. Getting 2k off is a great deal.

anybody know about European Delivery options for the GLK (assuming it's manufactured in Germany as opposed to US)? I have done this with BMW in the past but am new to Mercedes.

All GLK are produced in Bremen, Germany for Europe or US...For the options the best place is the www.mercedes-benz.de (altough in German).

Anyone been offered lease pull-forward (or loyalty) incentives? Something like... get out of your current MB lease 3 months early... What value would you attribute to these incentives?

The value is paying your remaining payments and waiving the disposition fee. I don't know about most, but I know that I will be anxious when my lease is coming up to get in to a new car and hopefully MB will be offering the pull ahead then. It just depends on which model you have as to whether they will do 3 or 5 payments.

As for discounts on the new GLK. It's brand new and there are no incentives from MB and probably won't be for a while. Remember, it's basically a C-class SUV, so there's not much profit margin on them to begin with.

GL450 Premier Edition
I haven't posted in a while, but am in the market again. Went to dealer to talk about GLK after receiving an email promo. $499/month 39 Month Lease, 10K Miles, $5000 down.

Went to dealer, of course they don't have a qualifying vehicle in stock, but ended up negotiating on a GLK, MSRP for $44,425.

Options:
Sport Package
Premium 1
Multimedia

Was able to get the lease down to

$649/month - 39 months
$4000 down
12K miles.

They told me my MF was .00225, Residual on 10K is 54%, 12K 52%.

What do you think?

From these numbers how do I calculate my purchase price?

I just put $1000 down on my order today. Built mine to spec and paid $270 over invoice. I had a deal locked at invoice on one on the lot, but I don't like to buy cars that other people have been "test driving". 270 is worth the wait and new ride.
Was given a deal at 500 over inoice on a RWD order if I wanted it, but opted for the 4matic.

There are all kinds of deals to be made, just got to find the right dealer.

You guys know you could get a $55,000 SLK 350, for less than $550 a month with only up front fees down (less than $2000). for a lease.

If a small roadster works for you, just wanted to throw that out there.

You guys should know that you can lease a $57,000 John Deere, D3 tractor with backhoe and 12 disc tiller attachment for $5k down and $520 per month over 48 months or 35,000 tons of corn, whichever comes first.

Just kidding around mac911.

The part of your point that is interesting is that you can get a much more expensive MB vehicle for better lease terms than the new GLK. Your post is worded to indicate visitors to this forum might consider the SLK, instead of the GLK. There in lies the humor opportunity.

Post on, its all in fun.

Unhappy

Anyone recently purchased a GLK in GTA (Greater Toronto Area)?
I went to a MB dealer yesterday and the best deal I can find so far is $1K off the list price (Premium package + Bi-Xenon package). Anyone know a better deal in the area? Thanks in advance.

for this price, i think a loaded Acura MDX for same price is a better car/deal, imho. heck, i think this is more expensive than the ML and it has a higher MSRP.

Thanks Schutzen. I will definite check it out. BTW, did you order the dark pine interior trim? I asked the sales at Markham MB dealer and he said the burl walnut wood trim don't be able until June's production.
