Power Tailgate and Keyless Go Canada
I was checking out a GLK on display in the Thornhill MB showroom this morning when I picked up my C350 for the service A visit. I noticed that there is the usual button on the lower part of the drivers door to open the tailgate and there is a big red plastic button at the lower right edge of the tailgate to activate power closure. Since the tailgate is fully opened, I have to extend my arm all the way up to touch the red button. I can't say that I am tall, but I'm 5'8. The location of that button I have to say has to be an oversight. I believe the same button for the ML is located within the driver's reach. I wonder if anyone has any information whether the Keyless Go feature available in Canada by June09 would make it more convenient to activate the power tailgate feature?

The power tailgate can be closed with the keyfob and the tailgate can be stopped at any position from full open to full closed.
Keyless go...not sure but it could be added as production continues.
Similarly, the function to fold the exterior mirrors was not on early GLKs but is now available...check...if you have an icon on the interior door panel between the Left and Right mirror switches you have folding mirros...no icon...no folding mirrors.

I think it the best position there, if it was lower (inside the tailgate) you would need to press the button and then quickly exit from the place where it closes...
You can also close it from the key (both ordinary and KEYLESS GO).
Another thing you can do is lower the angle it opens to, so it will not go so high.

Yes, the keyfob can both open and close the tailgate.
I know what you mean regarding the red button on the tailgate...I am the same height 172 cm...but the keyfob basically acts as a remote control.

Folks,
Does anyone have a definite on when Keyless will be available in canada? I have heard production will start in June for those who want the Keyless option. Does anyone have a definite answer?
Thanks
