I lowered my ride 2" and went a little more than 20% firmer. It handles very well in the twisties. As far as offroading goes, I hardly do it so I could care less that I can no longer climb over boulders. I figured I am onroad 99% of the time so might as well make it to my liking.

GLK
It will be looks vs comfort. With 21 it will look good stand still but will ride like a cement truck.

I removed all the tabs that are used to slow the airflow in the intake. They are designed to slow the incoming air which helps to quiet the intake sound.

Here are more pics.

do you have a link to the springs you have? also did you use the pads in the back because it seems lower than the front.

I had the springs made for me. The rear looks lower because all MB's have bigger front fender arches, the drop is actually perfectly level at 2" all around. I am actually thinking of using thicker pads in the rear and making new front springs that are about 3/8" lower to make the gap look almost identical front and rear. The downside to making the fender gaps look even is that the vehicle will have a mild rake, meaning the front will be lower than the rear.

.
I must be getting old, because I actually think 20" is the perfect setup on the GLK as long as the offset is correct by pushing them outwards.

What kind of rims do you have GLK4matic and where did you buy it?
You did a great job doing all those mods. Very sporty but you have kept the elegance!

If you do lower it, please don't go too far. 1" - 1.5 inches at most.

GLK350
I just picked up a GLK350 last week...Mars Red with the 20" Sport wheels. I like the look of the the lowered GLK's in this thread. What additional, if anything, is required for installation of the Lorinser lowering springs? Is it just removing the OEM springs and replacing with the Lorinser (and alignment) or are other mods needed? Thanks!

Well, I've decided to roll the dice. I ordered and just received my H&R Sport lowering springs from Tire Rack. $276 total to my door. H&R claims a 1.2 inch drop in the front and 1 inch drop in the rear. My hopes are that it results in a subtle change in appearance by eliminating some of the wheel gap thereby enhancing the existing factory Sport Appearance package while not having a noticeable effect on ride quality. My guess is the average person on the street won't even notice the specific change. We'll see.

I have a great relationship with my local MB dealer service department manager (I'm his CPA), so they're doing the install for me. He told me it's easily reversed if I don't like it.

I'll take some before and after pictures to post including some with a tape measure from ground to top of wheel arch for anyone who may be interested in the same modification.

Hi, I am considering GLK, can you please tell me your ground to bottom of seat height after lowering – this is very important to me.
Thank you
John
