Saw my first GLK in a parking lot today at Fashion Island, Newport Beach, Calif. It was white with Prem 1 pack and 20s. It looked small and did not look nearly as good as the Black GLK with 20s I saw on Pacific Coast HWY.

I think the low light and angle of view did not help because I test drove a white GLK woht 20s and lookded great.

Anyway, early March and I have seen "2" GLKs in the wild.

End of March and so, so few (only 2) GLK sightings in the wild. This is more than unusual for a new car. All over LA/Calif basin daily, from OC coast to Bev Hills and Pasadena and you do not see the occasional GLK. Few is one thing, but they just are not out there.

My local dealer in Pasadena area has "14" GLKs on the lot, but none to be seen driving around town yet. Did see an almond MB Tex plus wood combo at dealer this weekend and it looks outstanding. I am really glad I waited for a GLK to be built for me with Almond and wood interior.

I am seeing numerous SMART, or not so SMART, cars around all the sudden and other new cars, but no GLKs.

I have seen 3 GLKs in March, all black!! I will consider them still pretty rare here in Vancouver comparing the C-class

Second week of April and I had only seen "two" GLKs in the wild of SoCal-Newport Coast region.

Bingo, have seen two GLKs in the last "2" days and they looked great on the road. So different and standout from the crowd. 20s really do look great.

Is this a fluke or after 3.5 months, since launch, are we going to be seeing GLKs on a weekly basis? I predict July will be the GLK bloom. Many people ordered and taking June delivery and many people waiting to buy wood trim off dealer lot also arriving in June.

So far I've seen 5-6 total. I see mostly ML's and GL's around here.

I don't think we'll see THAT many GLKs (i.e. as many as C-class or 3 series). Look at RDX and EX35, great cars when they came out (and still are) but I don't see that many of them. I think GLK is for younger people who don't care about the utility aspect as much. People who decide to go SUV route will more likely go for bigger ML, considering the lease rate is pretty much the same as one for GLK. Also, many don't like GLK styling and would prefer Q5 or XC60. This works for us (GLK owners), as GLK will look fresh and differnt for longer period of time.

I admit that I'm happy not to see that many GLK on the road. I do see RDX and new CRV everywhere tho. According to WSJ, crossover SUV are the best selling vehicles in US as people who traditionally would buy a bigger SUV had gone for smaller, more fuel efficient (or so it seems). Yea, the styling of GLK is very bipolar, luv it or hate it.

Do you really think crossover SUV is best selling market? I doubt GLK will ever outsell C or E class, also doubt CR-V will ever outsell Civic or Accord and so on.

No, of course not. I'm referring to the context of SUVs, out of all the SUVs, crossover type are the best selling. You were talking about ML and GL vs GLK. My guess is that GLK will eventually out sell ML/GL, just like x3 out sales x5 now, and I bet Q5 will out do Q7 and so on...

BTW, in case you don't know, the best selling vehicle in the US is Ford F-series pickup, not a sedan.

In that case I agree, would not be 100% sure it will happen but time will show. Does x3 really outsell x5, I see twice as many x5's. But if we are talking about the world, then I def believe it. Can't even imagine X5 on some streets in Europe. Also there are much cheaper a X3's in Europe that don't make it here.

And yea I've heard about F-series, not sure how current this stat is, because I heard it 3 years ago.

Anyways, I hope GLK doesn't outsell anything and stay different.

Yes, I saw another GLK in Temple City CA parked along San Gabriel Blvd. Third sighting in four days. Maybe we are beginning to see the tipping point?

Last sighting was black with sport exterior pack and it looked soooooo nice. It just looks like so much more car than X3. Scale, visual weight all seem perfect. I really love the design.

Where are the NJ guys hiding? So far I spotted two.

Black w/ sport appearance package --- Parsippany area.
Red w/ sport appearance package --- this may not count as it had dealer plates -- Butler.
