GLK350 demo car -- need advice
I found a demo GLK350 4matic Artic White on the lot with 3,500 miles on it, salesman says it was the GMs car for a while and was the first one they had delivered back in dec/jan. Has premium, multimedia, sport packages, aluminum running boards with rub and heated front seats.
What are your thoughts on demo cars and in this market how much room do you think he has to move on the price? MSRP is $45,645 and before getting my name he already threw out 40k. But that seems to be inline with what I'm seeing on brand new ones.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
hope to be first time Mercedes buyer

Don't do it. It's a used car. It was prolly used for test drives and you know how those cars are treated. I would not believe all that BS that it was GM's car. Somebody on this forum bought one from the show room floor and had to take it back 3 times to fix power tailgate (maybe unrelated, maybe not). Car with 3500 miles is a USED car, and used with no intentions to keep. It prolly was treated like crap and was not broken in properly even tho visually it might look awesome.
Also 40k for 45k car is not really that good of a deal. You should get brand new one for 41-42 at the most. To me 1k is not worth the potential pain. Lastly, if it's a long termer, should def. get brand new.
Hope this helps.

i was the guy with the power tailgate problem. my guess is from everyone messing with it and not knowing it was power, forcing it open and closed, made the motor weak. the dealer definately knew i was upset and made sure that it was resolved. everything is great now. the demo you are looking at was most likely the test drive car. if you do decide to buy it, just do a detailed walk around, the car will still be under warrenty(s/p)? too.

As said above it might be a demo car. It all comes to your choice, personally I was about to renew my lease on a new G37, with 5K on it. It would be a lease so i wasn't worried warranty pretty much covers everything in the time frame. In the end, they gave me a pretty good deal, 13K off the price, but I didn't end up buying since after great thought, I felt the ride to be the same, slightly faster, better interior but it was the same car. I wanted to go with something new.

I wouldn't do it, not for a car that has 3,500 miles on it! Maybe if it was around $35K, then maybe it would make a little sense! As for me, I'm nuts! I'd rather spend a little bit more, and know it's me who's breakin that puppy in!
