Coolant Temp

How high is your coolant temp. I noticed mine is alway slightly above 80. On my old cars it was always exactly on 80. I was wondering what you guyes are seeing.

Also can anymobdy give some insight on BP Silver vs. BP Ultimate? What do you use?

i was thinking about that this morning too. mine is always slightly above 80. i put shell v-power in the glk and my v-rod. it's there 93 octane. i was told it was the best? living in a city that is all oil and gas companies, i guess i'll take their word for it.

My temp always seems to run there when warm, even in cold weather.

The BP Silver is only 89 octane I believe, so you'd get more power with the Ultimate, which is between 91-93 octane depending on where you live in the country. Plus, 'premium' is recommended by MB for the GLK.

Oh Silver is only 89? Tomorrow will be my first fill up, and my old cars were toyotas so no premium experience. GLK's manual says minimal octane rating of 91 (average of 96RON/86MON). So I guess Ultimate is the way to go. Thanks.

Same in Canada...I noticed the coolant temperature gauge needle is always above 80 degrees Celsius...so your USA spec GLKs have coolant temp in Celsius but speedo in mph.

Mine is running a lil above 80 degress too. I was wondering about that but it seems like the norm now.

I use Shell V-power too. Its suppose to be the highest octane rated gas.
