Don't you have to have the key with you to start the car?

[Edit] Oh, no; the dreaded third page!!!

rmgnla, yes...you have to have the key with you... I should have said that; I don't need to carry the key since it is in my wife's purse. I though I would looked to hen-pecked and less macho. thanks for calling me out on this (smile).

Let me add to the list: Cargo Net.
I went to the dealer today and they have no idea why the car has the hooks on the ceiling but nothing to hang from them. In our wagon these are for the cargo net but it doesn't look like a feature avail in the US.

GLK
On our ML with keyless go, I would often go out to start it and get the AC going while waiting on the others. And since my key was upstairs in the bedroom and my wife's purse was sitting right there, I would just grab her purse and go start it up. The car, not the purse.

Thanks for the clarification.

The reason I ask is I have keyless on my G37 and it's OK but occasionally it will not start if the key is in my left pocket; I guess it doesn't think the key is far enough inside the vehicle yet.

The GLK "keyed" igition is fine with me because it's still an electronic start, meaning you don't hold the key in position, just give it a momentary twist and the engine manages the start-up from there.
