Another Fog Light Question

I tested the fog lights on my GLK this morning. To my surprise, only ONE rear fog light (the LEFT one to be specific) comes up. No matter how I turn it, the right one never lights up. Does your GLK act the same way?

PS. The two front fog lights lit up at the same time.

I think that might have to do with what side steering wheel is on. I've seen this on many other cars, where only left one is on. Kind of annoying I think.

I haven't tested them on my GLK yet, so not 100% sure if above statement applies to GLK.

I believe you are correct. In the rear only the drivers side is lit...

Not sure but in "Reverse" then should be on

I just tried but it's the same thing even in 'reverse'. I've also searched some other forums it seems most German cars or European cars all do that because if both rear fog lights come up it will confuse cars behind you as they might think you are braking.

lots
And please do NOT drive with your single rear fog lamp on unless it is foggy outside. Its annoying during normal evenings. That is designed to be driver-only in heavy-fog only, to illuminate the passing side of the vehicle so faster moving cars do not run into you.

+1000, I hate when ppl do that.

In order to avoid this, pull the light switch until the first click, that's when front fogs come on. If you pull further then rear single fog will come on as well.

I finally figured what every light switch position does lol

I won't even drive with my front fog lights on during normal conditions...

Besides, the auto on feature doesn't support it and I am really that lazy... ;-)

Had light switch on manual fog one time, and parked car. Didn't realize the light was on all the time. Luckily got back before battery ran out.

Hey all... I just switched from the bimmerboards to this one. I sold my 03' 525i to pick up a 03' C240. Anyways I did my first search to find out how the fog lights come on and I hit the nail on the head with this thread LOL... I'd hate to start out by asking simple questions without searching first.

03 can be quite different from 09 model expecially since major changes took place. You should be able to turn the lights one by turning the light switch and pulling it out, if it works the same way. If not, owner's manual is your friend, if you got one. Also there is C class forum, just make sure you go to the right one.

Oh abosolutely I have to check either E-Bay or Amazon for the cheapest price for a manual. They do come in handy with things that you thought you knew but really didn't.....

I was taking night images of our GLK's lighting when we first got it and I noticed that. My MINI Clubman has the fog light in bottom of left tail lamp and the reverse light in the bottom of the right. On several occasions, I've had to inform other MINI owners that one of my reverse lights isn't out. I guess it will be the same with the GLK fog light(just hasn't happened yet).
