Hi, first off where are you located??? If your on the west coast (Canada) I have heard dealer are very tight on giving discounts. If your in the GTA I got myself and two other member 2K off msrp, and a 500 clothing discount coupon the dealer had offered. 1K is the starting point at most dealers.
At the EOD, our friends down south of the border are getting much better deals than ours. There prices are closer to invoice, it strange since we list the discount we received, while they post the price they paid. Now with Mercedes lowering production, I have heard dealers are getting tight on giving discounts.

My in-country price for a US spec was a flat 10% off MSRP...vehicle + packages and options. Repeat customers get a 12% disc.
Just got the VIN this morning so I guess that means it's been built. As soon as it gets trucked (train?) from Bremen to Sindelfingen, I'll be able to pick it up. Gotta arrange to get off the flying schedule and purchase our train tickets for the one-way ride to the MB delivery point at Sindelfingen. Looking forward to the dog & pony show...plant tour, seafood lunch buffet in the company dining room, one-on-one with a delivery technician, etc.
As I understand it, each person's name is called out individually and you walk down the stairs from an overhead viewing gallery to meet your vehicle as it's driven out into a large showroom area. Order is by MSRP so I guess I'll be toward the end...although it'll be neat to see all the really expensive cars meeting their new owners.
We did a similar thing at Porsche when we picked up my wife's Boxster last year but this sounds a bit more grandiose.

Just like Baby G said, I was able to also secure 2k off the MSRP just this last Friday. They started with $750 off and ended up at 2k off in the end. They also tossed in the $180 rubber floor mats. I love it when they whip out the sales invoices and point out that this person only received $1,000 off, this one only $1,500 off etc, to make you feel like you are robbing them blind...LOL...
MB Canada is apparently doing very brisk business, so no real need to offer bigger discounts.

2k off MSRP, and that's in Canada. Canada hasn't had same deals as US, due to the fact that their dealers and MB of Canada is smarter.
Anyways, the best deals in US were about invoice price (non including dest. charge as it's not part of invoice price) and slightly under. Post the deals you get. I would be surprised if they are the same or better as MB reduced production.

I'm a little confused. I'm guessing you are from US living in Germany? So do you drive US-spec car there and don't have to pay local car taxes? From what I saw, cars in Germany and Europe in general are more expensive than in US due to government fees and taxes on cars.

yea, that's what I used.
EDIT: actually I used cars.com not edmunds, should be the same tho.

Thanks guys. I am going to head to the dealer today, just wanted to see what most people paid before going in. I figure since its the end of the month, they might be willing to deal more.

Oh and here is another tactic they used when we were negotiating "MB is a corporation and they have strict guidelines etc etc etc..." funny stuff actually...am sure some of it is true, but come on...

Yes, USAF F-16 pilot on assignment in Germany. I bought a US spec GLK so I could take it back to the States when I rotate. Not much different from the Mercedes USA European Delivery Plan which is 7.5% off MSRP. As you correctly surmise, I pay no German taxes as a condition of the post-WW II Status of Forces Agreement. Additionally, importing as a "used" vehicle saves some taxes when it's eventually licensed in the US.

In US GLK's have been going for invoice (not sure about now with lower production), so that's about 7% off MSRP on the car and options. There was a month when you could get close to 1K under invoice if you order P1 and MM.

I think MSRP was about $50,000

We got 7% off of list for the car and options. The dealer would not budge on the accessories, though.
The 1.9% financing is for up to 36 months. We got 2.9% for 60 months. This is as stated on the M-B USA web site. Has anyone been able to get better from the dealer on a 60 month loan?

This all was expected as MB as well as others are reducting production and delaying deliveries to curb supply and keep prices high (2010 C class went up in price compared to 09)
7% off is still good deal (invoice price basically).
EDIT: To make you feel better I missed out on 2k rebate that dealers were getting passing, so my price went up 1,500 in 4 days, I could have taken car for about 1,500 under invoice oh well.
