aftermarket glk350 running board
Hello,
I've read news and thread from this forum since i'm the owner of GLK back in April. Now It has 2200 miles on it.
Anyway, I'm looking for an aftermarket running board for my GLK350. I do some researchs on the internet, and can't find any except for the factory one. I really don't like the look of the factory running board. Does anyone install the aftermarket running board, not the factory one? Do you know where should I order it if it's online? Also, is it hard to install the running board?
Thanks

the glk is probably to new for any company to make aftermarket running boards yet. i don't have the, but alot of people have their issues with them because of rubbing, with their pants while entering and exiting their car.

I have the smooth factory version without the steps on it and have not had a single rubbing issue. As far as aftermarket there is nothing available so the only option is to buy the smooth factory part.

pretty sure Brabus offers aftermarket running boards for the GLK but prepare to run your pockets for em. I think a GLK is in the cards in the coming months for me and I was thinking I'd like to see what it'd take to modify the Arden Stronger running boards (they are meshed billet metal cylinders) to fit the GLK. They also light up in the evening. What do you think?

me like those
They are not really running boards but rather a different type of rockers. Now we need somebody with photoshop skills, cuz it's tough to tell how they would look on GLK.

I read lots of review about people having problem with running board when getting in and out of the car. I personally like to have the running board because it can protect your car from getting ding.

problems getting in and out with running boards? Aren't they supposed to assist you in getting in and out? That doesn't make a whole lot of sense? It'd be great to get a photoshop of those arden runners on the GLK. I'd imagine these can be custom produced for next to nothing and would be easy to light as well. I'm seriously considering, how hard could it be?

Go to a dealer and try it for yourself. Maybe if they were standard I'd get used to them, but not for 600 bux.

fair enough, to each their own. After looking more at the widestar that Brabus offers they actually don't have running boards on the truck. I may add some of the parts of this kit onto the truck so maybe I'll leave the running board idea out. We'll see.

I think the running boards become a problem in tight parking spots where you can't fully open the door. Rather than step down, it becomes an awkward dance to shimmy your way out sideways while stepping on the running board or risk getting your pant leg soiled trying to squeeze between the door and board. That said, I think they look pretty good. Mud flaps are probably further up my list though. Mostly because of the price.

I just happened to trip across these running boards on the Advan-Emotion site if they are of interest to anyone?
