I wanted to maximize the headroom and reduce weight, opted without.
Also, being very sensitive to squeaks and rattles, wanted to play it safe. On my 997 and E63, I do hear occasional noise from the roof (lubrication fixes problem), but since I hardly use them I decided again on the GLK.

I have it & it's pretty cool although keeping shade closed most of the time since it is still so hot in Texas. My 2004 E320 wagon was first car in long time that did not have a sunroof & after all these years I still notice not having one as soon as I get in the car. While I don't open them much it makes the car feel less claustrophobic & I like getting some Vitamin D!

This question should get a little more interesting if MBUSA goes the route of MBCanada and offers the P1 package for $1k less if you order it without the Pano roof. The R class is set up this way for the 09 model year and your hard pressed to find one with the Pano roof option.

I would have no complaints if it was included in a package for $1k more, but since it's a stand alone item, I skipped it.

Yeah I suppose it depends on where your from. U.S. spec cars have it included in the P1 package. But as I mentioned above, someone said that Canadian spec cars are given the option to delete it from the P1 group. Would be nice to have the choice I suppose, but its a good deal included in the P1 as it stands in the U.S.

I barely open the sunroofs in my current vehicles but I ordered my GLK with the premium package which includes the Panorama. I felt it was enough of a style upgrade to justify something which I personally liked but perhaps wouldn't utilize to it's full potential.
I don't open it a lot like I said but for days when I'm sitting in the car waiting for something it sure is nice being able to recline back and look up and out!

Just check out the MB Canada website, fianlly it's offering the sun roof as a stand alone option for Cdn$1500. I didn't order the sunroof becasue it was part of a premium package, which costed Cdn $2800, and I had noticed my pattern that I only opened it only a couple of times in the summer in my previous cars. So I have no regrets not having a sunroof in my GLK. And the base price of Cdn GLK has just increased a 1000 dollars, and 20 inch wheels are included as standard equipment.
