Anyone regret not getting Sunroof?

I am debating whether to add the sunroof option for the GLK. For those who do not have the sunroof, have you experienced any regret? Is it too dark inside?

Intro would be nice, but welcome to the forums.

I think there are not that many ppl without sunroofs as it was part of Premium and majority here got it. I'm biased cuz all of my cars had sunroofs and I really like having one. If you can live without it, then why waste over 1k on it.

idk, I feel like the sunroof is extremely cool on the car. I drive 5 convertibles so having the panorama roof makes me have a feeling close to dropping the top!

I agree with NYCGLK, its all a matter of your preference and personal choice. I really enjoy my sunroof, and is an automatic addition in all our new cars.

For me, I had initially ordered my GLK without the panorama roof (Premium package), however, after some deliberation and visiting the dealership the very next day, I absolutely had to have it...it gives the interior a more roomy and open feel and it does look really cool when paired with the GLK in white! I also have a 3 year old, so I am sure he will enjoy looking out into the sky from the backseat! I say go for it, you won't regret it!

Our GLK is a base Canadian model, no "options".

The sunroof does open up the inside, but GLK is still very nice machine without it.

Plus... zero issues with long term ownership here in the rainy pacific northwest - there's a lot of sealing surface to stay sealed tight - for 20 years.

Now that's looking ahead!

Guaranteed, I won't have this GLK for anywhere near 20 years. So I ordered the sunroof.

I dont have one.. I dont regret it cause it was only part of the premium pkg then.. if it was a stand alone option I would of bought it.

I've done the "open all windows and sunroof" thing from the remote to let the heat out of the car before getting in to it, but that's about it. Like veerodder said, too hot in Houston.

Anyone regret GETTING sunroof?

To help you make the decision, lets ask the question from the other side. My answer is 'No regret'.

On the other side, I do regret a little getting MMI package, I only use it for sticking a usb flash, which can be done by putting a PCMCIA card adapter.

So no body regrets, period. Getting or Not getting sunroof. You are in no-lose position.

It's hard to regret something you don't have or if you purposely didn't get it.

You'd have to drive GLK with sunroof for a while and then go to one without it and then say you don't regret not having sunroof.

On the other hand everybody who has sunroof can say they would rather kept the cash and not have it, but they don't. Althouth they also can be biased and do not want to admit their mistake. So it's not all that clear cut no-lose position.

I've been in cars with no runroofs and it's first thing I notice, so for me it was an easy decision.

Take it easy, its only sunroof, glk is a geat car with or without it. Agree, personally if I don't buy a convertible, sunroof is a must.

my wife wild, but she loves every minute of it.
I live in SoFla. A sunroof is something you can use one or two days in the winter. Other than that, it's just a device to reduce headroom in the car. I would not go out of my way to have one.

How about the curtain or blinds cover the sunroof that GLK is having? love the sunroof, but do you found the blinds is little to fragile, and light is coming in all the time. Worry about my son would poke a hole easily, and bother him while he sleep in GLK.

The translucent blinds should be good enough to avoid the tan, given the glass is already tinted. I had a solid blind in my old car, I never close it.

Physically it is a little less robust, but finger poked hole is over exaggerated.

i keep the shade closed most of the time. i feel it does block alot of sunlight. on the other hand, i have 20% tint on the driver and passenger windows and the shade still allows enough light through on sunny days that the windows don't look to dark. since 20% is illegal.

In my last car, i remember i only opened it only a couple of times, so i didn't get it, instead i chose the tech package. i thought if i chose both package, the price would come closer to 50k cdn, and i can get a bigger suv like the lexus r350. mine got xenon, tech package and rear view camera for only $46k, which is quite a bargain.
