so i finally got my 22's fitted and installed. they are chrome 22"x9" giovanna sabina's with toyo proxes 4, 255/35/22. they are a et 40, so i couldn't go with the 265's that other people are running. i do have a pretty decent lip on them though. i also am pleased, because being 9" wide they still are inside the fenders and don't stick out. the 265 tires stuck out just a tiny little bit. these rims also come with black covers that screw on over the spokes but i'm still shopping around for a good price. i was planning on having the color coded arctic white to match. it might look good? i know alot of people don't like chrome on mercedes, but i'm a chrome freak. plus the rims kinda match the chrome rims on my harley davidson v-rod.

Looks amazing! Nice and clean, great job! I know they are 22's but they don't look out of place at all. Good call on going with the 255's, having the rubber stick out is definitely not a look befitting the GLK!

not my cup of tea
but I'm surprized they fit with that offset. I stuck my finger between front tire and the strut and it barely fit, which means there is about .5-.75 inch of space with current set up. With less of an offset and wider tires I would imagine it has to rub, but I guess not.

no rubbing at all. full turns both ways, and so far all clear going through bumpy turns. i do take them a little slower though, mainly because of the low profiles. i already noticed more people turning and looking. i got a point and a thumbs up from a guy in a slr yesterday! that always make ya feel good!!

How about if you stick your hand right on top of the front wheel (12 o'clock) there is a strut behind the wheel, is there still space between the tire and the strut?
I guess there has to be since you hear to rubbing.

i have 5/8" clearence from the top closest part of the tire to the bottom piece of the strut that the spring sits on, and 5/8" from the back of the tire the the strut. the 265's just cleared the struts but touched the wheel wells when fully turned.

Congrats on your mod! I went to my friends bodyshop today to see about making fender flares. I want to run wide wheels on a 4 corners.

the rides about the same. the tires are tiny bit little noisier, probably because they are 35's and a more aggressive tread pattern by toyo's. over all i love them!!
