Leasing 2010 GLK? From a BMW X5
i have a 2007 bmw x5 which is a great car but the lease is up at the end of august. i was offered $770 for another 3 yr lease 18k miles semi fully loaded. however i was thinking of going smaller and a bit cheaper.
first question, if anyone out there has had an x5...how do you compare the two?
i am thinking of a 36 month lease, 15k miles (possibly more) lease in New Jersey. I priced the glk with everything i wanted in it and msrp is 44,935. (included: metallic paint, 4matic, prem., leather package, navigation, heated front seats). how much can i anticipate paying for the monthly lease here in NJ with the above? (haven't gone to a mercedes dealership yet.)
Thank you!

It'll be expensive close to 700 if not more. It really doesn't make sense to lease with 2% apr and invoice prices (about 7% off MSRP). Leases are not as good as they used to be. There is a member who has X5 in the family and he like GLK quite a bit.
Also keep in mind MB's fake leather is really good (better than BMW's and easier to maintain that real leather), so I'd save that money and maybe add apperance package.

500 bux a month is for relatively empty model. With options that you listed it'll be def over 600, but I would ask dealer.
Why not consider buying? I put 10k down and it's 600 payment for 66 months and then car is mine (MSRP 47.5k, price paid 44k). If I can sell it for more than 5k in 6 years I'm better off than leasing.

My family member has a 09 x5 3.0. X5 is so much more fun to drive even though the 3.0 is slower than the GLK. The handling and road feel of x5 are excellent, and the handling of GLK is too sedan feel. I think that MB projects GLK to be a sporty SUV (aggressive exterior styling and the 19" wheels), but I am pretty disappointed after a few hours of mountain driving. You may want to have an intense test drive to make sure you really like the handling of GLK. If sporty handling is not an issue, then GLK is pretty good. I also found that the upshift of GLK is pretty slow, x5 manumatic is much faster. I had a 02 c-class before, and I am pretty sure the upshift timing of the MB transmission has no improvment over the past 7 years.
