Thing in glove box door?

What's that rectangular piece inside the corner of the door nearest the passenger's left knee? Is it a coin holder, gas card holder, what?

It is a coin holder. There is also a pen holder next to it. There is also an A/C vent above it in the glove box....

I closed the air vent...otherwise, figured I'd forget to do it before the winter heating season starts. My luck someone would stick a candy bar in there when the heater was on and then I'd have a gooey mess to contend with.

Probably wouldn't be a good environment for an iPod either although I don't really know how hot the glove box will get on longer winter trips with the vent opened.

good question, although i don't think winter heat vent will be as hot as a parked car during summer days. did some research, operating temp for ipod nano is something like 95 F.

I leave it closed too but it can come in handy if you decided to being some can drinks along a road trip. no worries about candy bars for me *yet*
