2013 GLK
Our 13 Black on Black GLK is my wife's car - it replaced her beloved MB 05 C230 Sport. Our GLK has been great for travel and also for going to work for my wife.

Just picked up a 2014 GLK250. Amazing vehicle with great torque and high MPG. It replaced my 2010 Audi A3 TDI which I loved, but it was on the small side. The Mercedes is so precision built compared to the Audi and the technology is miles ahead of the Audi.

Hello Everyone;
Our BELOVED AUDI grew too small since addition of a little munchkin
(wife mostly drive the AudiA3 and she loveeeed that car and had to be physically removed from that car even @ trade in day )

In our experience we feel MB250 (atleast the GLK model we have) is on LOWER QUALITY than the AUDI we had. maybe cause the Audi we got WASNT the "first few off the production builds" ....Audi was the Nov2012 build ( think its the last USA model build)

The GLK has had a few ISSUES ...eg = the "round ball" air jets along the dash - one of them JUST FELL OFF to the floor while she was driving! (dealer told her = "its normal for plastic things like that to fall off at times!!" ) ....The BACK DOOR (truck) when pop it - it kinda slides side-ways ie - the locking latch is not in line with the sides of the actual lifting gate .....>Dealer tried to aligned both/all of it = but seems the WELDING is slightly off 'center' of the whole back portion of car !!! very annoying!

Often the GEARS (the MB famous 7speed gearbox known issue) 6th & 7th is not available on highways > so you have to fool the 'brains" by pressing "e/s" few times before it will change to the UPPER GEARS on the 'highway speeds"

Since I got handed a NEW CL55 (company leased car) ....I am also not so impressed with quality there ! This would be fun to see .. after have the AUdiR8 !!!

Cheers everyone ... happy safe motoring

Replaced a 2010 fully loaded VW Tiguan that had more than it's fair share of quirks. Worlds worst nav/multimedia system (rebooted multiple times a day even after replacing the unit twice), body seemed to be made of tin foil, paint was bubbling and the body was creaking (but then again so is mine so maybe I shouldn't have held that against it!). First Mercedes and so far very happy...although a few quirks that the VW had that the Merc doesn't. Like why oh why can't the memory seats/mirrors etc be tied to the key to auto adjust and I really liked the sensitivity dial my Tiguan had for the rain sensing wipers...sometimes you just want them a little more or less sensitive. Overall tho' very very happy with the change.

I believe the GLK has two "sensitivity" modes for the rain-sensing wipers. Not as nice as an analog dial (granted I'm sure the Tiguan's dial didn't have infinite positions), but do you find that insufficient?

Haven't found the Merc quite as good as my VW. I should note that the problem mostly shows itself in snow or spray from the road...not rain so much. I still find myself pressing the wiper pulse button all of the time. You are totally correct that the VW wasn't infinite, just with the few extra (four if I remember correctly) positions I could dial it in a bit better. However as above with all of the other issues I had with the VW these are small compromises!

Our 2014 GLK BlueTEC 4Matic, slated to go into production any day now (second decade of March production slot), will replace a 2011 VW Jetta SportWagen TDI and join a 2011 BMW 335d. The VW is a great car with fantastic fuel economy, but we could not resist the allure of a German diesel compact SUV to occasionally tow our motorcycles. The GLK beat out the Audi Q5 TDI and upcoming BMW X3 28d.

I'm trying to down size from the 2011 ML bluetec to the 2014 GLK bluetec, for better fuel economy.

2011 Subaru Forester. Liked it, but wanted to move up in trim level, and the Forester had gotten significantly rear-ended. Sadly not totalled, but will never be the same, so figured I'd take the opportunity to upgrade

My 2014 GLK250 replaced a 2007 Subaru Legacy GT wagon. I kept the utility and
didn't lose anything in useable power or handling. I also gained a substantially higher
class of vehicle with 40% better mileage.

In 2011 our beloved 2006 BMW 330xi (with every available option) was flooded/totaled. At the time the 3-Series looked essentially the same (very mild face-lift) so opted to go with something different; the GLK we have now. It has been an enjoyable vehicle if a departure from the sheer driving fun that was in the E90 330xi. Our 2011 Volvo XC60 R-Design was replaced 3 months ago with a 2014 ML350, all M-B family now.

Replaced our 2003 Jeep Liberty with a GLK250. Our MPG has more than doubled with the Blue Tec, and hopefully if MB has to recall the vehicle for rear impact gas tank protection, that they won't install a trailer hitch to "resolve" the issue!
