GLK Bicycle Rack (Rear)

Is any one out there has installed this bic rack ? Myself and another GLK Owner "mofli" here in China would like to install this rack for our bics. But what I heard is we might need to install the Tow Rack first. Is this true ? Please take a close up picture of it for us to look at. Thanks in advance

Yes that looks like it. Most of these get connected with the tow.

Good Morning to you !! Tks and hope some one can send me a picture to look at. Seems the Rear Bumper area is different to the Canadian Model. Also this Rack is not available in the U.S. only in Canada and some part of Europe. Thats why I want to make sure and not wasting money to buy something I can't use.............

Right, you have to have tow hitch installed for this bike rack. Although there is a roof bike rack available too.

yea there are two types of racks.

One is for hitch (in the pic above), so you have to have hitch package. The one in the pic is too intense and probably expensive and not even available everywhere. There are simpler and cheaper ones out there for 100-150 bux in US, but again you do need the hitch, which is one of the factory options.

Another type is for the roof, but you'll have to get crossbars for that.

Tks for your reply ! But it is much easier to put the bics onto the rear rack than onto the top of the GLK ! Thats why we are looking for this one.

Tks ! We checked this rack is available in Canada but not in U.S. Now the "Tow Hitch" issue could be a set back to us ........

Ask if you can get an after market hitch installed. Depend on your local code, these hitch may not be good enough to tow truck, but should be good enough for bikes.

Another thing is, how to prevent the trunk door from opening accidentally and hit the rack.
