Whining / buzzing noise when driving
#26
Visited dealership today re: whine. They confirmed transmission problem. They didn't tell me exactly what they think the problem is, but it's definitely looking to be a major repair.
We had the car for 2 weeks only. Didn't even get the license plates yet.

It's bad to see the transmission goes but worst if you have to pay for it.

And yes, the transmission will be replaced next week.
I'm not even slightly upset. I actually find it quite amusing. Owned a new car for two whole weeks before it went caboom.

Like I said.
It's too bad too bad to see the transmission goes too early.
But don't give up just yet as many of us, GLK owners, have found the car is pretty reliable.... compare to other MB models.
My car's warranty will be out next year too.
I think I'll looking into buying extended warranty too.

We will get rid of it before warranty runs out (and this was decided before we bought it, tranny has nothing to do with it).
I had my last CLK 1.5 years beyond warranty. I didn't have to do any repairs, but it did give me quite a few "is my pocket about to get $2000 lighter moments?" moments... Worries like that take a lot out of enjoyment of car ownership. Even if you don't get to use that warranty, just piece of mind alone is worth it.
