Hitch bike rack for GLK
I am looking to buy a hitch bike rack.
The salesman at a local shop recommended Thule Helium ($450 cad). Hanging style - 3 bikes. Ultra light aluminum with locking.
Did anyone else buy one yet ?
If so, please let me know what brand & model.
I actually wanted a platform style rack, but the saleman only recommended the two bike rack for that style due to the weight support. But I need to carry 3 bikes. If I do go for the 4 bike Thule 917 w/ additional 2 rack, I will cost me $950 cad.
I wonder what Mercedes will charge for one (arm & leg) ?
Any feedback is appreciated.

I did plenty of research on bike racks, including the Mercedes factory platform bike rack which I believe was designed originally for the GL. When I was about to buy, I was told it was discontinued due to safety reasons! So checked out some Thules, Sportracks, etc. and went for the Thule Aluminum. It's Thule's latest rack, so the aluminum is great - light for transporting, small, and has a bike lock. No problems yet with this rack on my GLK since the summer.
I only have 2 bikes, and I'm doubtful it would fit 3 (or it would be real tight!).

My MB dealer also said that their bike rack is not available.
