Ipod just died.

Not rsure if it's GLK related but my Ipod just died. I mean the thing won't turn on whatsoever. I don't know if it's just the Ipod but I've never had one just crap out like this before. It's only 2 years old. Maybe that's old for an Ipod. Wondering if this has happened to anyone other GLK owner. I don't have the MM package, it's just a basic stereo with Ipod feature.

actually it happened to me. all my music was there, but i couldn't hear anything, through the earbuds or plugged into the car. i had to send it to a repair center(not apple) and they fixed it. apple will charge an arm and a leg. i didn't tell them that my car possibly caused it. i have no problems now and my ipod is plugged in all the time.

By holding the menu and play button together right? Tried that and this thing is blank. I have had several Ipods and most went with me to Iraq and Afghanistan, never once had a problem. I know the thing is just a 100 bucks but I am more surprised at how all of a sudden it's dead. Oh well, I will see what the repair shop says.

Here's the support page from Apple on this kind of thing.......
I had one lock up......don't no why.....all I did was go in the pool with the iPod in the pocket of my swim suit....... Let it dry out for a month and then tried it again......nothing......put it into my Belkin Dock/USB device and it eventually powered up......all is well now ........

Well, I think I figured it out. The female end of the Ipod seems to be worn and the MB plug wasn't sinking in all the way, which didn't allow the Ipod to charge while plugged into my car. I have to really force the MB harness into the Ipod to make it "click" in. Probably due to prolonged use and it's time spent in Afghanistan. I'm just happy I figured it out. Maybe santa will bring me a new one.
