A few mods...

Added

1- black lug nut caps (hides the stock ones that were looking kind of rough)

2- front chrome light surround

3- rear deck lid chrome strip (above license plate)

4- front chrome strip (lower grill)

I bought the chrome strip from Pep Boys and cut it myself - I could not justify spending $$$$ from MB.

Cheers and have a Happy New Year

Looks great!

Are the chrome parts were glued on?
Didi you install them yourself? If so did you buy the parts online someplace?

All chrome parts are applied via double sided tape (they all come prepped with it).

Headlight chrome trim at : http://www.performanceproducts4benz.com/default.asp?

the other chrome trim - I bougth a roll of 3/4 in wide chrome bumper trim at Pep Boys (about $15).

I first used masking tape to get the right length and angles on the ends - and then used the masking tape as a template to cut the chrome strips.

Cheers

Thanks for the link Pietrod.
Looks like they've got quite a bit of stuff. Will have to revisit the site once I take delivery.

Where did you get the caps from? I presume they are plastic? Did they also come with a removal tool?

Cheers.

This is an old thread but your 3rd pic inspired me.

The chrome OEM piece is not my taste in that it looks too much like the Honda Pilot hatch lid.

Looking at the ML, Mercedes went from a top rounded, bottom cornered Honda Pilot-like style, to a smaller rounded style, to a style similar to below where the lines match the indention in the hatch lid. Other current Mercedes models are following this as well even on the sedans.

Here is a pic of mine.

I think it would look even better if it followed the indentations all the way out to the tail lights...

Ala the new GL and GLAs which have a thicker strip that goes out that way? The best thing about them is that the silver in their taillights matches up. This strip is the 3/4 inch wide one.

I saw a thread on another Benz forum where someone did add their own thicker strip all the way across. I was going for the C/E sedan style. I found that the C's OEM strip, attached to the license plate light housing, is actually longer than the GLK's, otherwise I would love a manufactured option.
