"Off Road" Message in Instrument Cluster?
This morning while driving slowly into a snowy paved parking lost (ESP not activated...no flashing orange triangle in cluster) the message...OFF ROAD...appeared in the instrument cluster display.
I did not read through the manual yet to figure out what it meant but the North American models do not have the OFF ROAD package.
Only thing to add...I took off my seat belt to exit the vehicle to open the pass gate into the parking lot (window frozen). I left my seat belt off while traveling slowly in the parking lot.
Anyone else have the message OFF ROAD appear.
I cycled the ignition and the OFF ROAD message disappeared.

i get the off road when you are in a parking lot, or new streets. Where you in the navi panel in the in cluster? If so, it just that you are on a street not mapped, or parking lot.

AFAIK, if your MFD is in navi mode, and you are not on a mapped street, it will not display the name and just be blank. I park in the underground garage so when I am inside it only shows direction and no street name

Good point...I may have touched the thumb pad on the steering wheel when I got back in the GLK after exiting (window frozen) to access the electronic gate. I was thinking what the heck...the parking lot is a little bumpy/slippery/snowy but not OFF ROAD...but indeed OFF ROAD for the Navigation....CASE SOLVED...thx.
