I installed a Xenon kit and have had zero problems. No one has ever flashed me that my lights were too bright. I think it because the headlight casing is made to look like the Xenon's (small and round) and the beam is better focused and not scattered like they talk about in the video, just my opinion. My wife has an Acura with factory Xenons and when driving my kit is very similar in the area it covers, especially the peripheral view.
As long as you get a KIT that includes the ballast then any HID will work, no error messages. I paid $80 for a kit online from www.buyhidkits.com and I had them installed by a local auto stereo installation store for $150.00. It was worth it to me because I could not get to the main lights and did not want to mess or screw up my new MB!
I ordered the BH-H7 Kit (you don't need the extra relay) at 6000K color.
