Difference between GLK350 and GLK350W4?
Dumb question, but I've tried searching for the answer and all I get off the web is classified ads. What sets the "W4" apart from the regular GLK350? It is the 4-matic feature? I'm seriously considering one of these over an ML, so any feedback is appreciated. I want to know what I'm talking about before I call the dealer.
Loaded question: Why a GLK over an ML??

never mind, thanks to MBCA
I got the answer on another forum. W4 apparently is the 4 wheel drive. What confused me was the dealer's web site. Both the GLK350 & GLK350W4 were listed as having 4-matic. I then noticed that once a person got to the individual car listings, the actual model number would be a W4 even though the listing showed GLK350. They just had their listings wrong.

I think W4 means AWD
GLK over ML cuz I needed smaller SUV for parking garages, decent handling and faster accelearion when comparing V6 versions. I still wanted SUV tho. ML is also outdated and about to be replaced. I see ML as a car for more mature/older buyers. I'm 24 and wanted something a more hip.

I'm 59, so maybe I'd better stick with the ML Just kidding. I have no need for a big SUV either. I'm looking to replace an '06 Scion xB that seemed like a good idea until we got a foot of snow. It gets around ok, but I want more carrying capacity and 4WD....plus...it's just not a Benz! I was looking at a used ML55, but now I'm really leaning towards a GLK350W4. Thanks for the feedback

Plus, as we all know, AMG stands for "All Money Gone". I own an 87 560SL - I'm a little familar with Old Benz's. The older cars don't bother me as long as there is a documented history. Problems happen when someone buys one and can't afford to take care of it properly. A lot of the older ones that I looked at had a LOT of deferred maintenance. Buyer beware!!!

The GLK and ML are two different cars..or in the case of one of them..trucks. The GLK is like driving a car, because its essentially a C class wagon..shh don't tell anyone else. The ML is more of a truck and sadly rides like one as well, which I really didn't notice so much when I had mine, but it became apparent quite quickly once I got my R. The same bumps that I used to go over (going in and out of gas stations) that would upset my ML, I barely feel in the R class. While testing a GLK I found it has more of a car set up (being based off a C class) and drives and rides much like a car as well. You could however, depending on your dealership and location, get a ML for around what a loaded GLK would cost ($45k-$49k). Also keep in mind if you plan on doing any sort of towing the ML has a higher tow rating. Best bet is to find a dealership and go for some drives and make a decision for yourself. I'm leaning towards a GLK myself.
