Cracked windshield grrrrr
luckily got the windshield protection from permaplate (which i got when I bought the car...which some folks hate and some like) they'll change the whole set-up. I requested for an OEM windshield . the call person said I can get the OEM but it would take a while. I can wait for as long as the windshield wouldnt break on me while driving. Anyway, this is my 3rd accident with the windshield... first two were just chips... 3rd one wasnt that forgiving. Really crossing my fingers for that OEM.
question is...would i get the oem windshield, hopefully the people who would install the glass have experience changing my glk. Here's to a lot of hoping
btw, can you tell me about the state inspection stickers...its affixed on the windshield... probably i would need to visit city hall again...so much of a hassle grrr ...then of course there's there the eztag my o my

the windshield repair guys will get the inspection and registration stickers off and put them on the new windshield, with no problem. i was worried also, but they did it.. i can't even tell they were removed and re-applied.
they also had the little mercedes sticker in the lower right corner. he removed it but it didn't go back on nicely. he had a new one in his van......

Wednesday or Thursday to replace it. I requested OEM and it was approved. I think I'll stay on the side roads for a while.

.
OTOH once it is hit, the GLK windshield is much more vertical than the norm (58 degree for GLK vs 50 degree for ML 350)so what would just glance off some windshields hits our windshields head on......
Might look into one of those ugly (IMO) "bug deflectors" for the front hood if you do a lot of freeway driving........
