FRONT LICENSE PLATE HOLDER, DOES ANYONE USE THIS IF YOUR STATE DOES NOT REQUIRE FRONT PLATE???? MIGHT BE A DETERRENT FOR CHIPS WITH A NICE CHROME STAR ON IT , OR DOES EVRYONE THINK IT IS TOO UGLY???? TX DAN

your dealer put the black plate holder on, even though florida doesn't require front plates?

 

My car has not even arrived yet!! 2nd week in March, I just started buying some goodies for it!!~

 

Florida requires front plates I think! Just tell the dealer you'll install it and not to drill any holes... here in Maryland it is mandated that the dealer install the front plate for the customer or, have the customer sign a document letting the dealer off the hook if caught.

While Illinois requires a front plate, my dealer asked if I wanted them to install the holder, or have a go at nothing. I've been without it for about 10 months with no issue yet. The license plate is in the back, and I told the wife to say we are waiting for a backorderd part if stopped.....

 

I just got my GLK 2-3 weeks ago and hadn't mounted the front plate. I had to travel so I parked in the garage at O'Hare. When I got back I had not one, but two tickets for no front license plate. So beware!

 

I don't care where you are you can't be charged twice for the same offense if you didn't move your vehicle. If that is the case you're only liable for one ticket.

 

way to bring a year old thread, but I didn't know somebody would bother giving a ticket for that if you are not in the car. Ppl park long term and take plates off to have insurance removed...not in airport... but still sounds f'ed up.

Sometimes I think I live in a great state cuz nobody bothers with small crap like this. I have tinted plate covers that nobody cares about, and I've had police driving behind me several times.

Oh yeah and no pumping my own gas....haha
