Back up sensors and the 5 yr warranty
Has anyone had the optional back-up sensors installed on their GLK by their dealer and if so, how much did it cost? Secondly, how many have purchased the extended warranty that takes it to 5 yr and 100,000 miles? If you did, how much did you pay for it?

1st, are you talking about parktronic option or aftermarket add on? Get the Multimedia package with rearview camera and don't worry about parktronic.
You can extend to 7 years/100k miles cost about 3500. Why would you get 5/100k miles? Do you plan to put on 20k per year? If so you gotta be careful and know how the warranty works.
i.e. original is 50k/4 years if i'm not mistaken (maybe 40/4)? So if you put on 60k in first 3 years and need to replace something that will trigger ext. warranty, that extra one year will start ticking and you will end up being covered for total of 4 years. I don't think those extended warranties are worth it at all.

You are right, was talking about the 7 yr 100k warranty. We will run out of the standard warranty way before the the time ends due to mileage. Knowing how expensive it is to repair a MB, looking to get a little insurance against those high repair bills.
My dealer quoted $5K for the extended warranty.
Have the multi media package now, looking to add the parktronic sensors as my wife has been known to back over cars even with a camera, you don't want to know........

I had the front and rear sensors dealer installed for about $900, I also purchased the 7 year 70,000 mile extended warranty from MB for about $3,000.
The sensors are an aftermarket brand that MB installed and is guaranteed by my dealer. They work well.

Bob, check with you insuracne company, they have extended warranty coverage for much less. Geico has one for about 100 bux a year for total of 7 years/100k so comes out to be 700 bux in total. The only catch it's not trasferable with the car and you have to stay with Geico (or whatever your insurance company is.)

GLK 350
Can anyone provide any suggestions or advice for the extended warranty on the GLK. I am considering an offer for the 7 yr / 75K miles for $3000, which is the discounted price. Am not sure though if it is really worth it. This is a MB dealer offer, extension to original warranty. Thank you.
