GLK ~ Brake Issues & RHS mirror motion in reverse

1. Yesterday, while parking the GLK in my garage, I was trying to get as close as possible to my second car in front watching the sensor display light up till red. Thats when I realized that the brake pedals had sunk in and locked in completely depressed. After putting the car in reverse and accelerating a bit the GLK released the brake pedal from its locked position. When I tried to re-inact the same situation the brake didnt lock again. Should I be worried about this? Anyone else ever come across a situation like this before?

2. Also, is it standard in a GLK for the side mirrors to incline downwards when the gear is shifted to reverse? I've noticed only my righthand side mirror making some motion when in reverse and then return to normal position when the gear is shifted back to forward drive.

Thanks in advance to your replies.

1. That's how brake assist worked on e-class for me in europe. Maybe Canadian models do the same. Try pushing pedal down while standing on a hill and see if it locks up again, little icon with brke pedal might come up too.

2. Read manual, whichever is selected isthe one that tilts

You were right about the brake assist. I never knew that. .. It holds the brake pedal for a second or two and then releases.

Last night I quickly tried to look through the manual for the mirror tilt activation but couldnt find it. I'm beginning to think this actually might be an electrical fault because when i put the gear in reverse, the mirror doesnt tilt downwards but sideways and only at certain times. Do you have this feature on your GLK?

Nah US doesn't have tilt in reverse on earlier models (mine). You have to program how it tilts when you put car in revers, do a search on this forum, it's been discussed a few times.
