Get your ventureshield installed quick - the warranty is changing to a 5 year and will NOT cover yellowing. This film is 3M's lower line of films.

There was some issues with yellowing. Please review the FAQ section on our website - xxxxxxxxx.com to provide some further insite on this issue.

Hope this helps.

PPF, yellowing and "breathing"

Hi,
Just a couple of facts to throw out there about paint protection film, clear bra etc., or whatever else you'd like to call it. Keep in mind that protection is not perfection, but if you use a reputable certified installer you will never want your Mercedes to go out into the world unprotected again.

Let's start with the 'yellowing' of PPF. The best and most reputable film on the market still is the 3M Scotchguard (clear coat) and the 3M Ventureshield Ultra (top coated). Both are guaranteed not to yellow, crack or peel, (3M for 5 yrs and Venture for life). That said, on a white car you will always see maybe a 1%-2% tint (due to the adhesives and hardly noticable) but it should not get any worse. You must also wax and clean the film just like you would your car, but be careful not to use cleaner waxes, and also there are some products that build up and cause some yellowing (on a white car) like Plexus.

The factory paint is unaffected by the film and is oem endorsed by VW, Ferrari and others. The film is optically transparent and therefore allows the paint to fade evenly without regard to the film presence.

Touch-up paint is, of course, an afterthought reaction, not protection. Most companies warrant against film defects, but usually damage due due a rock hit or something like that will require a film pc replacement (far cheaper than a repaint).

Find a certified installer near you and you will have the best quality job, and please, no matter how good you think you are, don't do it yourself. Handling PPF really does require much practice. You've invested in a fine automobile, don't get cheap when it comes to protecting it.

Hope this helps, 'cause after thousands of installs, with just about every brand of film, we've been through it all.

Paul
