iPhone Integration
The comment I made was in response to a presumed Mac owner.
& from the time that I spent researching this, most iPhone owners who are also Mac owners found this to be a perfectly solid workaround.
Took about 30 minutes to read all the on-line guidance for how import contacts from BB, Android & Apple.
Since I don't have an iPhone personally - my wife does & she had Android prior - it was quite easy to send the vcards over via android.
2 minutes to be exact.
It's quite easy if you don't get caught up in the Apple ecosystem.

I have been able to pair the GLK Bluetooth with my Mac Book, but it pairs as an "audio device", and will not send files. I have the 6 disc, big screen Command.
I went into MacBook settings, and enabled file sharing, Bluetooth sharing and everything else I could think of, but still nothing.
Otherwise, I guess I am now forced try the SD card in the PCMCIA card reader.

Can you get your contacts into a BlackBerry or Android? They load themselves. Almost.

Went to dealer who had a Comp USA PCMCIA card, and tried to upload via SD Card. NO GO!!
Turns out I have all my Vcontacts on a too fancy 8GB SDHC card, which is not supported on his Comp USA reader.
Dealer says to bring back next week where he has a tech that has a "Transfer kit" (Guessing that means an old Blackberry).
Looked on MB Mobile and noticed the 2012 C Class can now do iPhone contacts etc., but my guess is that since the GLK is due for a 2013 refresh, they left software stuff alone.?
So kind of stuck as no one I can get a hold of has a Blackberry or otherwise.
Looks like my options will be to buy the MB OEM PCMCIA set up so I can transfer that way in the future.
On a happier note, found out that the same PCMCIA slot can play videos!!
Did you try the sync contacts to Gmail and then to the car?

Works great - use it for music and uploading contacts.
dgiturbo - you said the PCMCIA slot can be used for videos? Have you been able to do that? I've put both AVI and M4V files on the Compact Flash card and they don't appear on the Command screen. Only the mp3's do.

Everytime I see it has a new post I open it up hoping MB finally got it's collective head out of it's collective butt and came up with a fix for this.
Instead, it's just another Crackberry shortcut or Mac suggestion.
This is a problem that should not exist! MB should be ashamed!

I know these steps work on BB Bold.
IF a contact has more than one phone # (ie: cell & home #'s) then I can't get the voice command to distinguish between 2 and I can't utilize the system. It gets confused and can't handle my request.
It appears to be set up strangely. For example:
HOME: Landline, Work, Mobile, Car
WORK; Landline, Work, Mobile, Car
When I try to just say "Mobile" or "Home" it can't recognize recognize my request. The entire process was done while at MB dealership. They couldn't figure it out either. I spent my entire Saturday trying to get this to work all at the dealership. They even checked for a current software update hoping this would help the situation. NONE.
If a contact has only 1 phone associated with it, the voice command system has no problem. The good news is at least I will know who is calling me when I have an incoming call.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My wife is used to it now as she only calls a handful of people when driving, and we just wont update the contacts ever. Too much effort to re program the entire COMMAND.
Strange that my 2007 ML handles these tasks effortlessly. Thought we were going forward?

Same here. I was able to load my address book from my iPhone5 to my 2012 C63 AMG when I pared the Bluetooth.
However, the problem I have is that I cannot get the HK stereo to recognize the iPhone5 for either Pandora or iTunes music. I get "Device not Compatible". My iPod works great.
I used an Apple macbookAir(MBA). Using the contacts on the MBA, select all the contacts you wish to transfer across by clicking each one while holding down the cmd key. Once you have your selection, click file-Export-Export vCard and save it to your desktop. i.e all your desired contacts in one vCard file.
Go to the Merc. On your MBA, under bluetooth settings, make sure your MBA is 'discoverable". Now locate the bluetooth logo on your top menu (top right of screen) , click it and move down to "Send File". Find the vCard file you just saved and select.
It will now look for your car's bluetooth. On the Merc, lift the cover for the radio and then push the telephony button on the dash. Using the centre console control, under telephony get to the menu that says "Receive Business cards".
Select "Receive Business Cards". When it askes for a code, input four zeroes "0000" and then on the MBA send the file to the MB Bluetooth. It should start the transfer. If it starts then dont touch anything till it finishes.
I hope you guys come right.
Cheers
Chief
